The girlfriend of lockdown lothario Dale McLaughlin has been charged with a vicious attack on another woman.
Self-confessed "crap James Bond" Dale jumped on a jet ski to cross the Irish sea last year on a mission to romance Jessica Radcliffe on the Isle of Man but was swiftly nicked and jailed for flouting lockdown rules. Now his girlfriend, 30, has also ended up in the dock.
Accused of causing actual bodily harm and two counts of causing actual criminal damage, Radcliffe is also accused of breaching the Isle of Man's lockdown restrictions and appeared from police custody via video link to face the charges.
During the hearing at Douglas Courthouse on the Isle of Man on Thursday Prosecutor Chrissie Hunt said Radcliffe and a friend drove to the home of a woman they had a long-running online feud with, reports the Daily Record.
Mum-of-two Radcliffe appeared alongside Leanna Bradley, 33, who faces the same charges and is also accused of assaulting a police officer.
Ms Hunt said the accused left their car in the street with the doors open before forcing their way into the home of the alleged victim, who dialled 999.
They are said to have grabbed her iPhone and smashed it before subjecting her to a sustained attack, including kicking and punching her as she screamed for her housemate to protect her young children who were in an upstairs bedroom.
The woman suffered burns to her forehead after she was dragged up the stairs. She was also left with bruising and injuries to her head, arms and back, the court heard.
Both the accused women, who were described as unemployed were bailed for £500. Neither have yet entered pleas to any of the allegations against them.
Radcliffe's boyfriend McLaughlan had travelled to the island to complete a construction project that had begun before the pandemic and it was during this time he met his 'Juliet'.
The wannabe Romeo, who can’t even swim, saved up and towed the new motor 70-miles from his home in Irvine, Scotland before jetting off.
But he and Radcliffe were stopped by police while going to a pub on the island, leading to his arrest the next day.
He served 10 days of a four-week jail term and was told not to return to the island.
