An off-duty police officer is believed to have been injured by murder suspect Daniel Boulton, police say.
The 29-year-old is wanted in connection with the murders of a woman, 26, and her nine-year-old son in Louth, Lincolnshire.
Their bodies were discovered at around 8.30pm on Bank Holiday Monday (May 31).
Lincolnshire Police said an off-duty officer has been injured in Hubbard's Hills, Louth.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and the force said it is believed the person responsible may be Boulton.
A spokesman said: "We are currently responding to an incident in Hubbard's Hills, Louth, where an off-duty Lincolnshire Police officer has been injured.
“His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
"It is believed that the individual responsible may be Daniel Boulton, who is wanted in connection with a murder in the town last night.
“Please do not approach him if you see him and instead call 999, and please avoid the Hubbard's Hills area for the time being."
Police said the mum and son victims suffered multiple stab wounds.

A knife which is believed to have been used was recovered at the scene.
The force said Boulton was known to the woman and child.
Lincolnshire Police’s Head of Crime, Detective Chief Superintendent Andy Cox, said: “We are urgently seeking assistance to locate and arrest Daniel Boulton.
"Please, do not approach him as he could be potentially dangerous.
“We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident at present."

He added: "Boulton and the victims were known to each other.
"No one else was injured at the property. However, another young child was located at the property and was uninjured."
Another young child was found at the scene but was uninjured, he added.
In a statement, a police spokesman said: "We are urgently appealing for information or sightings of Daniel Boulton following the death of a woman and child in Louth."
Neighbours paid tribute to the victims, who have not yet been named.
One resident said: "This is terrible, shocking news.
"I saw the flashing lights on High Holme last night. Absolutely heartbreaking."
Another wrote: "Woke up to find this happened right next to where I live.
"This kind of stuff is incredibly uncommon here. Feel awful for the victims' family."
