Got $169million? If so, a 96th-floor penthouse in a nearly 1,400ft. skyscraper in Manhattan could be yours.

The lavishly appointed Midtown unit is on the market for the first time in five years – and for the first time publicly.

The penthouse, measuring more than 8,000-square feet, offers panoramic views of New York City and features accessories from Louis Vuitton, Hermes and Bentley, which will all be sold with the condo along with artwork in the unit.

The seller, Saudi real estate magnate Fawaz Al Hokair, purchased the penthouse in 2016 for $88 million.

If Al Hokair is successful in selling the penthouse for nearly double what he paid, it would be among the most expensive properties ever sold in the U.S., according to the Wall Street Journal.

Fawaz Al Hokair is a Saudi real estate magnate with the Alhokair Group. The organization’s holdings include 92 entertainment centers and 35 hotels spread in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

The condo features includes six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. A chandelier hangs over a custom onyx dining room table that seats 12, and a sculptural grand piano sits by the window in the living room, overlooking Central Park.

It also includes its own private library with a wood-burning fireplace, according to Business Insider, as well as a sitting room and separate dressing rooms attached to the master bedroom.

The master bathroom, meanwhile, has marble floors and walls, cubic marble vanities with 22-inch oval sinks and custom wood cabinets, and a large freestanding soaking tub where residents can enjoy a nice bath while enjoying some views of the water that surrounds the city.

The bathroom floors are heated as an additional luxury, according to Business Insider, and the condo is sprinkled with accessories from upscale companies, like Louis Vuitton, Hermes and Bentley.

And, as with any million-dollar residence, the kitchen is fully stocked with modern appliances.

The Park Avenue building was designed by Rafael Vinoly and was developed by Macklowe Properties and the CIM Group. It was completed in 2015, amid criticism from some New Yorkers who thought it looked out of place along the New York City skyline, with some likening it to a middle finger, according to The New York Times.

The building boasts a full-time concierge, a 24-hour door attendant, valet parking and a private, covered entryway where vehicles can be discreetly dropped off.

The building also has its own fitness center, complete with a 75-foot swimming pool, sauna and steam room.

Additionally, the building offers residents use of its massage room, billiards room, private screening room and conference room with 14 leather chairs surrounding a marble table.

Residents can eat at the building’s private restaurant run by chef Shaun Hergatt, who previously ran the Michelin Star-rated restaurant Juni.

Its tenants included singer Jennifer Lopez and former Major League Baseball star Alex Rodriguez before they separated this year, as well as many foreign buyers, like Al Hokair, looking for some discretion in the Big Apple.

But even the rich and famous face some problems.

In February, the New York Times published an article detailing some problems at the luxury residences, with tenants complaining about millions of dollars in water damage from plumbing and mechanical issues, frequent elevator malfunctions and walls ‘that creak like the galley of a ship.’

There were reportedly two leaks in the tall building in 2018, and one resident claimed to have been stuck in an elevator on October 31, 2019 for nearly 90 minutes due to high winds.

Other residents have complained of creaking, banging and clicking noises, and a trash chute ‘that sounds like a bomb’ when garbage is thrown out.

CIM Group officials told the Times they were ‘working collaboratively with the condo board,’ which was run by developers until January, when residents were elected to take over.

The developers also recently told The Wall Street Journal that all of those concerns are being addressed.
