Meghan has now spoken with Thomas Markle Jr, who has the same father as the duchess, for a decade but he believes she could be up to the task.

The last time the two met was in 2011 at the funeral of their grandmother and Thomas Markle Jr was not invited to the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan.
