Russian despot Vladimir Putin is seemingly keeping up to date with the latest developments in UK politics by watching the Daily Star's Liz Truss vs lettuce livestream.
We're asking the most pertinent political question of our time – will lame duck Prime Minister Liz Truss last longer than a 60p lettuce from Tesco?
Last night (Friday, October 15) bookies slashed odds from 6-1 to evens that our lettuce will outlast the PM as thousands tuned into the livestream of the vegetable (available below).

It came after a humiliating day for the Tory leader who U-turned on cutting corporation tax and gave the boot to Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng.
As news of the race between Truss and the lettuce went viral earlier in the day, Reuters Russia reporter Felix Light revealed that it had managed to reach Russian state TV.
He tweeted: "In entirely unsurprising news, the Daily Star Liz Truss vs. Lettuce livestream has made Russian state TV."
The image he shared appeared to show the Daily Star's front page yesterday that announced the contest being analysed on a news channel run by Putin and his Kremlin cronies.
Regarding the contest itself, as we enter day two the Tesco lettuce appears to be holding up strong – no doubt buoyed by the fact it has now been given googly eyes.
Alex Apati, of Ladbrokes, said: “If Liz Truss wasn’t already on borrowed time, Kwarteng’s exit might be the tip of the iceberg.”
Everything could be over sooner than expected given calls for a general election following Truss' disastrous eight-minute press conference.

Christina McAnea, general secretary of health and public service for union Unison, said: “If Liz Truss is serious about restoring stability, she should do the right thing and resign.
“Then there must be an election so people can choose a government that delivers in the best interests of everyone.”
