A woman nearly died after she drove her Smart car down a 35ft lift shaft allegedly thinking it was a parking space.
The 38-year-old woman, who remains unnamed, had been looking to find a place to park in Stuttgart, Germany.
But things went wrong when she rammed the closed doors of an elevator, causing them to burst open and her car to fall down the shaft.

Miraculously she managed to get herself free of the car, which landed upside down at the bottom.
From deep in the pit, she was able to call firefighters for help and two rescuers were then able to climb down and fetch the stranded woman.
She was lifted back up on a stretcher and received first aid afterwards.
A spokesperson for Stuttgart Fire Department said: "The woman was able to climb out of her Smart and make an emergency call with her cell phone."
In a statement acquired by Newsflash, Daniel Anand, a Press and Public Relations Officer said: "After being rescued from the elevator shaft, the person was handed over to the rescue service and taken to a hospital for further treatment."

Speaking to Germany’s Bild newspaper, the driver said: “I have no idea how that could have happened. Physically, I'm fine again."
The elevator was unsurprisingly taken out of service and the door of the shaft sealed shut, TheMirrorreports.
Cars falling off things is far from anything new.
In August, two UK people were taken to hospital after the car they were in drove off a cliff in Abersoch, Gwynedd.
The Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team said they fell a “considerable distance” and were thrown from the car.
One of the people was taken away on a stretcher while the other was able to walk away from the accident.
