LEGAL analyst Midwin Charles suddenly passed away on April 6, 2021.
Charles was known for working with CNN, MSNBC and various other networks.
What did Midwin Charles do for a living?
Midwin Charles, 47, was a prominent defense attorney for nearly two decades.
She founded the law firm Midwin Charles & Associated while also working as a legal analyst with truTV, HLN, Fox Business Network and WPIX.
Charles also a guest host for Express Yourself on radio at 107.5 WBLS, and a regular contributor to Essence Magazine.
She had served as a research fellow at Harvard Law School and checked for the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
In addition, she was the author of Infinite Possibilities of the Law Degree.
Charles was also an active member of Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network and The Haitian Roundtable.
The attorney had lectured at Syracuse University, written for The Huffington Post and was a frequent speaker at the Urban Assembly School for Law & Justice in Brooklyn, New York.
She was believed to have been worth approximately $16million.
What was Midwin Charles’ cause of death?
Charles' family announced her death on social media on April 6, however her cause of death was not disclosed.
The post read: "It is with a profoundly heavy heart and the deepest sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Midwin Charles.
"She was known to many as a legal commentator on television but to us, she was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, niece and cousin.
"Our lives are forever changed and we will miss her for a lifetime. The family thanks you in advance for your love and prayers.
"Please allow the family time to grieve. The Family of Midwin Charles."
As news of her death rolled out, friends and colleagues across the nation shared their tributes on social media and mourned her death.
CNN commentator Keith Boykin tweeted, "I am stunned and saddened to learn the news about the loss of Midwin Charles. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. May she rest in power."
MSNBC executive producer Lauren Peikoff commented, "Absolutely crushing news. RIP to a force of a woman, Midwin Charles."
NBC political analyst Elise Jordan wrote, "I’m just so, so, so sad. Sending love and prayers to Midwin’s family. Midwin, you are loved."
