Aaron Taylor-Johnson addresses rumours he’ll be the next James Bond as he reveals his preference for any upcoming big movie roles

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has admitted James Bond would not be his personal favourite for his next movie role despite rumours swirling he’s in line for the 007 films.

A number of big stars have been named as possibilities for the next 007 flick since Daniel Craig’s left the movie franchise after 2021’s No Time to Die.

And despite having a reported secret meeting with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, Aaron, 33, says he’s favouring the title role in Marvel’s Kraven the Hunter which has been delayed from October 6 until an August 2024 release.

He told Esquire: ‘I have to go by the beat of my own drum. It’s my own path, what feels intuitive to me.

‘I’ve never made a decision based on other people’s perspectives, or their judgments, or their expectations. You lose your f**king mind if you do that. Your sense of worth and soul is gone.

‘You need to understand what is integral to you and what feels right, and you’ve got to stay on track with what’s present in front of you. Kraven is what’s in front of me.’

On the thought of considering James Bond as a future role, he added: ‘I just focus on the things I can have in my hands right now. What’s in front of me right now.’

Damson Idris became the latest name to be tipped as the next James Bond last month.

The Mail on Sunday understands a flurry of bets have been put on the 31-year-old actor who starred in American crime drama Snowfall in recent days by punters who believe he may replace Daniel Craig as the iconic super spy.

A source said: ‘This is the first time Damson’s name has been linked with Bond. It’s come out of nowhere.’

According to bookmakers William Hill, Damson is now second-favourite to bag the role of Bond behind Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Damson has appeared in small roles in series including Black Mirror and Swarm. He is currently starring as Franklin Saint in the drama series Snowfall on the FX channel.

Aaron has been linked to the 007 role since reports claimed that he did a screen test for the role.
