Alex Jones, 44, has taken to Instagram to thank her fans for their sweet messages they sent her in response to the exciting news that she is expecting a baby girl with her husband Charlie Thomson. The Welsh BBC presenter announced her pregnancy on The One Show yesterday and admitted she has since been feeling “overwhelmed”.
Speaking in her dressing room ahead of this evening’s programme, Alex told her 281,000 followers: “I just wanted to jump on here because I had a bit of time before I needed to get ready.
“So I’ve been reading some of your messages on Insta and on the show’s Insta and some of you emailed the show and they forwarded the emails to me.
“I think I’ve read every single one of them and honestly, I’m overwhelmed by the reaction and the love and the kind words.
“Honestly, it means the world.”

Detailing her and her family’s happy news, Alex added: “We are delighted anyway, but the reaction from all of you is just the icing on the cake.
“And I just want you to know how grateful I am and how appreciated every single message is.
“Thank you! I’ll put some make-up on now and I’ll see you later, bye!”
It comes after Alex shared a sweet family photo on Instagram in honour of her third pregnancy.
The star branded the news “the best surprise ever” alongside a black and white photo of her and Charlie posing with their two sons Teddy, four, and Kit who is almost two.
Alex first broke the news of her pregnancy on The One Show.
Speaking to co-host and singer Ronan Keating, the Welsh star made the announcement.
Shifting in her seat, Alex said: “I feel really nervous all of a sudden.

“It just feels like a good time to share some news with everybody and the crew in the studio for the first time.
She continued: “Lockdown’s been anything but predictable and we’ve had some really unexpected news, baby number three is on the way.”
Her announcement was met with applause from the studio and Ronan called it “fabulous news”.
Alex continued: “We didn’t see that one coming but we’re delighted.”
“Boy or a girl?” Ronan asked.
“Girl,” Alex confirmed, to more cheering from the studio.
Since then, Alex has been inundated with congratulatory messages, including one from her former The One Show co-host Matt Baker.
He penned: “Beautiful News- just sorry I’m not there to cover your Maternity this time around XXX.
“Lots of Love from all the Bakers (but you know that anyway).”
