Amanda Bynes has revealed she recently went under the knife while addressing comments about her changing appearance.
In a video posted to her Instagram Story on Monday, the actress, 37, explained why she appears to have gotten a ‘new look’ and said it was because she had gotten eyelid surgery.
She began by saying she read a number of headlines about her changed appearance and said she wanted to address the topic.
The She’s the Man star confessed she recently underwent a blepharoplasty procedure and added that it was ‘one of the best things I could have ever done for my self-confidence’.
This comes just after she made her official return to the entertainment industry and dropped her debut podcast episode over the weekend.

In her video, she said that this was something she had never spoken about publicly.
‘I saw a couple of stories online that say I have a new look,’ she began. ‘And I was never open about this before.’
‘I actually had blepharoplasty surgery on the skin folds in the corners of my eyes,’ she confessed. ‘So I don’t have those skin folds anymore.’
She added that getting the procedure improved her ‘self-confidence’ and made her ‘feel a lot better in my skin’.
‘I feel a lot better now about myself and I’m so glad I had the blepharoplasty surgery,’ she continued. ‘It was one of the greatest things I could have ever done.’
On the same day, Bynes also shared another video, revealing her secret as to how she looks ‘not even old’ for her age.
She said she ‘tends to find the best light’ rather than taking photographs in ‘harsh lighting’, which she explained can ‘cast dark shadows in different areas’.
She also spoke candidly having scars on the right side of her face, which she explained are not visible unless in ‘bright light’.
