Andie outing comes as she recalled a ‘kind of crazy experience’ that happened to her after the 2016 presidential election.

During an interview with Marie Claire she shared that she arrived to set ‘right after Trump got elected’ in 2016 and was ‘really disturbed that nobody seemed to care about the vagina[-grabbing] comment.’

The St Elmo’s Fire star added: ‘I had gotten really sad. I went to do a job, a day’s work, and I had my very first panic attack. I was getting ready to shoot something, and I turn around and it’s, like, a roomful of men. Like, a sea of men.’

She continued: ‘It flashed on something that was personal for me. And I dropped to my knees. I left the room, and went into this fake bathroom… and looked at myself in the mirror and said, “Get your s**t together.”‘

The Golden Globe Award winner admitted it ‘freaked’ her out ‘not seeing any other women.’

Despite clarifying she does not ‘have anything against men,’ the mother-of-three said she just doesn’t ‘like big groups of them.’

‘Since then, I’ve become very conscious of looking around and finding the women on set. For comfort,’ the Maid star divulged.

MacDowell was nodding to former President Donald Trump’s infamous ‘grab them by the p***y’ comment during a 2005 conversation caught on a hot microphone, in which he vulgarly gloated about groping and trying to have sex with women as a public figure. The clip went viral in October, 2016.

Following the rise of the #MeToo movement, an international campaign which sought to hold powerful men accountable for incidents of sexual assault, the performer stated ‘there are a lot more women’ on set.

When asked about working alongside some ‘famously difficult actors’ by the magazine, the former model joked she is ‘really good with difficult men.’

‘I have worked with so many difficult men!’ confirmed the South Carolina native, whose mom was a music teacher and dad a lumber executive. ‘I have great training, because I grew up in the South.’
