Ben Shephard is one of many stars who sent their heartfelt goodbye to BBC Breakfast host Louise Minchin amid her last show. However, the Good Morning Britain presenter couldn’t resist a tease that she would soon be heading to ITV.
Louise appeared in her final show on the BBC earlier today as viewers said goodbye to her.
The broadcaster was stepping down from the programme after helming it for more than 20 years.
Following her final show, she has been inundated with messages about her exit.
Among them was GMB star Ben who shared a snap of them together on his game show Tipping Point.
The star bid farewell to her as he teased he had replaced Dan Walker as her co-star.
Writing alongside the image, Ben penned: “Congrats @louiseminchin on 20 brilliant years on BBC.
“@mrdanwalker not that I want to brag but she’s traded you in for a new model!”
BBC Breakfast co-host Dan then quipped back: “She’s dead to me” amid the tease.
Louise responded to the exchange with some laughing emojis.
Ben finished his cheeky message with the response: “That’s showbiz!”
Louise is expected to appear in an upcoming edition of Tipping Point on ITV.
The game show often has celebrity episodes and it seems another is on its way.
Others couldn’t help but wade in as Ben shared his cheeky message on social media.
Crimewatch host Rav Wilding penned in response: “Very good!”
While fan Andrea wrote: “She will be missed in the morning, a formidable lady who was one of my favourite breakfast presenters – apart from you Ben!!!”
“Sorry to see u go,”(sic) added another viewer named Andrew McQueen.
Louise was left emotional after the BBC planned a huge goodbye episode for her final show.
This featured a special cake and lots of farewell messages for the star.
Taking to her Instagram after it aired, Louise thanked everyone for her final day.
She penned: “What a day that was, thank you for all the support and kindness.
“It has been a joy and a privilege to work on #BBCBreakfast and I could not have dreamed of a better last day.
“It will take me a bit of time to read all your messages and I will do that over the next few days, in the meantime here are some of my favourite pictures of the day.”
Louise accompanied her post with several shots at the BBC studios with her friends and colleagues.
