- Cruise used to address it from him, ex-wife Katie Holmes and daughter Suri, then removed their names from the cards after the couple’s 2012 split

Brooke Shields says Tom Cruise mysteriously stopped sending her a coconut cake every Christmas.
The Manhattan native, 57, speaking to People Tuesday, said that she ‘was on the list for a while’ until the cakes suddenly stopped.
Cruise annually sends those in his Hollywood circle the cake, a $126 bundt cake put out by Doan’s Bakery in Woodland Hills, California, according to the publication.
The actress and model told the publication that she ‘was very happy’ about receiving the cake each holiday season.
‘I was on the list for a while – I had a good 10-year run, and I got the coconut cake every year,’ said the actress, who has been on the promotional trail for her new Hulu doc Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields.

Shields noted to the magazine that the cakes were initially a gift from Cruise, his ex-wife Katie Holmes, 44, and their daughter Suri, 16, and that he took the names of the latter two off the accompanying cards and slowly stopped sending the cakes.
‘It was from them and Suri, so it was the three of them, and then soon it was no Suri and no Katie and just Tom,’ Shields said. ‘Then it went from just Tom for a while, but not every holiday. And then the cake stopped.’
Cruise and Holmes – who were first romantically linked in 2005 – split in June of 2012 after five years of marriage.
The last time he was publicly seen with Suri was in 2013, and a source told Dailymail.com last month that the Top Gun leading man ‘has no part’ in his daughter’s life.
Cruise and Holmes welcomed Suri on the same day in the same hospital as Shields and husband Chris Henchy’s second daughter Grier in April of 2006. The next year, the celeb couples hosted a joint birthday party for the children.
Shields said that Cruise and Holmes ‘invited us to their wedding’ in Italy in November of 2006. She said, ‘I was like “Hell, yes, I going,”‘ adding that the experience ‘was extraordinary.’
Shields was mentioned in Cruise’s 2005 Today show interview in which he spoke about his opposition for her use of antidepressants as she dealt with postpartum depression after welcoming her child Rowan.
In the infamous interview with former Today show host Matt Lauer, Cruise said of Shields’ stated use of antidepressants, ‘The thing that I’m saying about Brooke is that there’s misinformation.

The star said she hasn’t a clue ‘what happened’ that led Cruise to stop sending the cakes, adding, ‘I want to get back on that cake list’
‘She doesn’t understand the history of psychiatry … she doesn’t know what these drugs are, and for her to promote it is irresponsible.’
Shields answered back in a July 2005 piece in The New York Times, and the issue did not impacts the pair’s friendship.
She said she hasn’t a clue ‘what happened’ that led Cruise to stop sending the cakes, adding, ‘I want to get back on that cake list. It’s the best cake – Tom, I need to be back on the cake list.’
The actress has been on the promotional trail for her new Hulu doc Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields as of late. She made headlines as the doc revealed she ran ‘butt naked’ from the room after losing her virginity to Superman star Dean Cain when she was 22.
In the documentary, Shields said she felt ‘regret’ about how she first had sex with Cain, and that he was ‘more comfortable with the sexual part’ of their relationship than she was.
The couple dated when they were both students at Princeton University, and Shields recalled how she was more interested in ‘the love and the commitment’ side of their relationship, and that they taught each other about one another while together.
In the documentary Shields explores her complex life, which included posing nude as a young girl and being publicly sexualized in show business throughout her teens.
Shields laughingly recalled her first time sleeping with Cain when she was a junior in college.
‘When we finally had sex, I immediately ran out of the room, ran down the hall butt naked, just running. I didn’t know where I was going,’ she said
‘He ran after me with the duvet and grabbed a hold of me and said, “Where are you going?” He said “I’m not going anywhere, I’m not leaving you, you’re the same person.” He got it immediately and I just cried.

‘I wanted to jump into the personal relationship and the love and the commitment,’ she said in the documentary. ‘We had to teach each other about each other.’
She explained how she was baffled by her reaction to sex at the time, saying: ‘I feel bad for that girl.
‘She was old enough to own her own body for real. And just I couldn’t get there at that moment.’
In her 2015 memoir, There Was a Little Girl, The Real Story of My Mother and Me, Shields previously described how her reaction was spurned by her mother’s possessiveness.
‘I believe she wanted me to stay hers alone,’ Shields wrote. ‘She believed in an absolute hold she had on me and growing up, and having sex, would mean that I was leaving her.’
‘It should have been what I had wished for myself, but in an instant, guilt slapped me in the face. Instead of giving in to what was a loving, and emotionally safe, relationship, and escaping into the most intimate and deserved moment, I began to cry deeply and silently and I got so overwhelmed that I jumped out of my bed.’
In the two-part documentary which aired April 3, Shields explored her complicated relationship with her mother, who looked on while she was forced to seductively kiss Keith Carradine, then 27, in 1978 film Pretty Baby in which she played a prostitute at just 11-years-old.
Shields said she struggled to understand how her mother Teri Shields did not intervene as she revealed her own daughters, Rowan, 19, and Grier, 16, refuse to watch it.

In the documentary, Rowan said ‘It’s child pornography! Would you have let us [do that] at the age of 11?’
Shields replied ‘No’ as she was overcome with emotion.
The star’s mother was an alcoholic who died in 2012. Shields, an only child, said she could not be angry at her as her mother was so insecure.
The actress long deflected the blame faced by her mother – who allowed Shields to pose nude for a Playboy publication at the age of 10, but Shields now admitted ‘I don’t know why she thought it was all right. I don’t know.’
The incidents weren’t the first she was sexualized by the media. At 15 she shot ‘Blue Lagoon,’ then came ‘Endless Love.’ Both featured sex and nudity, while she also appeared scantily clad in a Calvin Klein denim advertisement campaign at the same age.
When she was 16 and a global star, a family friend and photographer tried to sell nude photos he took of her when she was only 10. Her mother sued and the family went to court but the photographer won.
Shields has been approached about documentaries before and always said no. But now with a kid going off to college, and with the encouragement of her friend Ali Wentworth and a secure feeling about her life brought on by years of therapy, Shields felt the time was right.
She has recently admitted that even in her books, she wasn’t telling the whole truth when it came to the nude photos of her as a child.
‘It was too much for me to cop to that, really,’ Shields said. ‘Writing about it just broke me. It was her that I was protecting.’
