‘Have you got a KNIFE?’ Celebs Go Dating’s Wayne Lineker freaks out his date… as viewers mock his ‘creepy’ flirting and ‘cringe’ chat-up lines
Celebs Go Dating returned to screens on Monday night, with seven single TV personalities sent to a mansion in the middle of nowhere to find love.
Among the line-up were Made In Chelsea’s Sophie Hermann, Geordie Shore’s Chloe Ferry, TV presenter Karim Zeroual and Gary Lineker’s brother Wayne – with the latter causing quite a storm on Twitter as the show aired.
Wayne – who has made no secret of his desire to date a woman decades younger than him, despite being 58 – was sent into a mixer with his co-stars, where he was seen attempting to chat up some of the women.

Wayne’s gruff delivery required subtitles for this portion of the show, as he was seen chatting to the ladies, spinning yarns about vegans, salads and his four children.
At one point, he was seen flirting with one of the women when he suddenly asked if she had a knife.
Wayne then began peering around, leaving the two ladies he was chatting to to look on, panicked.
He eventually explained he wanted to hold up said knife so he could look into it like a mirror.

Wayne went viral last year after sharing a bizarre list of criteria for his future girlfriend.
But he insisted he’s learning how to be more flexible in his pursuit of love during an interview on This Morning on Monday, with Holly Willoughby bluntly asking the club owner why he can’t date women his own age?
Looking for love: He went viral last year after sharing a list of criteria for his future girlfriend. But Wayne insisted he’s learning how to be more flexible in his pursuit of love
Wayne previously refused to consider a future girlfriend close to his age, insisting in his checklist that ‘it would just look weird,’ and he’d prefer someone around 28 or 29-years-old.
He told Holly on Monday though that after listening to advice from the Celebs Go Dating experts, he has broadened his age bracket, slightly.
‘I am opening up,’ he insisted. ‘I’ve come to realise, even though there would still be a large age gap, 30-45 would be ideal.’

‘What’s wrong with women your own age?’ Holly quizzed, with Wayne replying: ‘I don’t know. I wouldn’t rule it out but everyone has their own attractions don’t they?’
He added though that he had thought carefully about girlfriend checklist, explaining that it’s based on his past romance mistakes: ‘It’s bordering on controversial, I tried to take some things from previous relationships, the comments about you must be able to prepare to give up your job or prepare to work on a beach that’s because my last relationship broke up because she got a new career.’
‘My family are very concerned about me, when I’m single I tend to get carried away and go out too much, I am looking for a relationship and I’m ready to settle down, believe it or not, I am ready to be single I don’t need this crazy lifestyle I lead’.

Wayne went on to insist that he can be trusted once he’s in a relationship, but has been burned in the past when girlfriends have been jealous of his Ibiza lifestyle, where he owns a string of businesses.
‘I don’t know whether it’s they can’t trust me, I’m a very trustworthy person, but it’s very difficult for a girl to be in the UK while I’m at the club surrounded by girls in bikinis,’ he pointed out.
‘Once I’m in a relationship I’m in a relationship I’ve never cheated on a partner in my life and I’m good friends with all my ex-girlfriends and ex-wives.’

Father-of-four Wayne has been married once and has had several girlfriends, but is thought to have been single since his split from ex-fiancée Danielle, 28.
The business mogul has three sons, Duane, Sean, Freddie, and a daughter named Tia from his first marriage.
In 2016, he announced that he became a grandfather for the first time to his son’s daughter, Myla, four.
Last September the club-owner shot into the limelight after posting online his list of criteria for his future girlfriend – which included ‘giving up her career, having no children, being able to cook and loving R&B’.
The list was posted to Wayne’s Instagram account with the hashtag ‘banter’ but sparked outrage on social media from followers disgusted with Wayne’s demands – such as ‘loving the gym and having body definition’ and not being the same age as him because ‘that would just look weird’.
