Gary Lineker reveals he 'genuinely can't be ar**d' with romance

‘I can’t be ar**d now’: Gary Lineker, 60, reveals he won’t marry again because he ‘doesn’t want sleep with someone’ – after splitting from wife Danielle Bux

Gary Lineker revealed on Friday that he doesn’t think he’ll get married again and feels done with the concept of matrimony after tying the knot twice already.

The ex-England footballer, 60, admitted he isn’t interested in romance and hadn’t been on a date for months as he felt his ‘testosterone levels drop’.

He told The Sun: ‘I’m not sure I’m asexual as such — no matter how old you are, a beautiful woman is a beautiful woman — but I just genuinely can’t be ar**d now.’

Gary continued: ‘I just don’t want any more sleeping with someone again…When you get a bit older, that urge fades, your testosterone levels drop. It’s just not that important.

‘I like the fun of flirting, going on dates, kissing and cooking for someone, but that’s about as far as I want to take it.’

The sports presenter confessed that he hasn’t been interested in any of the women he has been on dates with and is really happy on his own.

However, while Gary said he was content with his friends and family around him, he admitted that he could get lonely and need company in his old age.

The sportsman later started dating model Danielle Bux in 2007 and married her two years later.

However, the couple seperated in 2016 with reports claiming they had different opinions on starting a family together.

It comes after Gary previously revealed during the pandemic that the only people ‘sliding into his DMs are making charity requests’.

Gary said: ‘Yes, I’m very single, especially in lockdown. Even the sight of a female is very rare.

The TV presenter explained how his sons told him dating is done by sending private messages on social media now, but he isn’t convinced it will work for him.

‘I’ve had lots of people sliding into my DMs but it’s normally requests for plugging their book or their charity. I’m nearly 60! Who’s going to slide into my DMs?’

Earlier this year, Gary stepped down as a presenter of BT Sport’s Champions League coverage and landed a position on Spain’s La Liga English-language channel.

In his latest candid interview the presenter explained that he would join the BBC sport team to cover the World Cup in Qatar despite condemning the country’s human rights record.

Gary said that he vehemently disagreed with the country’s regime and will not cheer on and support the tournament but will go and report from Qatar in the same that world news reporters would.
