Gemma Owen stunned as Luca Bish says she has ‘changed’ since leaving the villa

Fresh from the Love Island villa, Gemma Owen and Luca Bish appeared on Good Morning Britain today (August 8) to discuss how it feels to be back in the UK and what's changed since their return.

Luca, 23, and Gemma, 19, were all smiles on the sofa, both wearing cream outfits as Gemma said: "The whole experience is so surreal, it's not sunk in really."

But there was a briefly awkward moment when TV host Richard Madeley asked the pair if, now they're "out of that weird environment", they've noticed changes in each other.

Luca ten turned to Gemma and said: "You've changed a little bit."

Gemma appeared speechless and gave an uncomfortable laugh before saying "Oh", prompting Luca to hastily add: "No, for the better. She's come more out of her shell, like when I saw you with your mum and stuff, when we're in the hotel."

Gemma looked down and seemed unsure of how to respond as Luca tailed off, leaving an awkward few seconds of silence.

She then collected herself and said: "I feel like with my mum, obviously I'm super close to my mum, so you probably haven't seen that side to me just yet."

Luca admitted he felt nervous in the first days of being in the villa, before getting used to to the cameras.

He said: "The first day my legs didn't stop shaking, but after that you get used to it and try and avoid the mics, or get in the pool where they can't hear you."

Richard asked the pair what it's actually like being in the villa saying: "Is it fun? Weird? Frightening?" Gemma replied: "You're in a villa with a load of your best mates," while Luca added: "It was the best time of my life."

On the Love Island Reunion show, which aired last night (7 August), Gemma told host Laura Whitmore that she likes Luca much more since leaving the villa.

On Good Morning Britain, Charlotte pressed her to expand on this claim and Gemma said: "I felt in the villa there's only a certain amount of feelings I could get for Luca in that environment."

The loved-up pair confirmed that Luca is yet to be introduced to Gemma's footballing legend father Michael Owen, but did reveal they've spoken on FaceTime and Gemma said of her dad: "He's proud I didn't do anything to disgrace us."

After finishing second on the show, Gemma and Luca are still taking things slow and aren't boyfriend and girlfriend yet.

Gemma said: "We're pretty much official, we're just not putting a label on it."
