Can I get a plus one? The Crown star Emma brought her pet along for the video call from home, which delighted her fans

The Crown reigned supreme at Sunday night’s 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards, sweeping the board as it picked up four major trophies at the virtual ceremony.

The Netflix series’ Emma Corrin, 25, who portrayed the late Princess Diana, scooped the coveted Best Actress trophy, but it was arguably her cat who stole the show from the comfort of her living room.

Sharing a snap of the actress holding her feline friend as she accepted her award in front of a packed bookcase – one fan wrote: ‘Emma Corrin bringing her cat to the Golden Globes is the best part of the night.

Who is the star here? Regina King’s dog got some serious airtime when it photobombed the star’s big moment from her hotel room

No queue at the bar for this superstar: Bill Murray brought a little martini and wore a very outlandish shirt from his home, showing off his incredible garden

Winner winner: Jason Sudeikis accepted the Best Comedy Actor award for his Ted Lasso role wearing a tie-dye hoodie from his London home – he is filming the new series of the show in the capital

Ready for anything: The 45-year-old actor also gave a shoutout to his six-year-old son Otis while accepting the coveted award amid a tumultuous time in his life after splitting with Olivia Wilde late last year

This one’s for you: Twitter users joked that Sudeikis looked ‘super high’ and ‘super divorced’ in his rambling speech during the live telecast

Actress Regina King, 50, looked absolutely incredible during a virtual appearance to the Globes from her hotel room, but it was her dog who got some serious airtime when it photobombed the star’s big moment.

One viewer wrote: ‘Regina King’s dog moseying to his bed in the background of this bizarro #GoldenGlobes red carpet Zoom is the definition of where we are right now.’

She was rocking an asymmetrical Louis Vuitton gown featuring silver and gold elements across the torso midsection and skirt as well as a draped cape column.

The black and silver gown had a cut-out detail over one shoulder with the silver and gold elements on the front in an ombre fashion.

A representative for Louis Vuitton told People magazine that it took 350 hours to make the dress: ‘The embroidery is composed of black, golden and silver sequins, as well as crystals carefully positioned to create a shimmering gradation.

Sex And The Meme: Cynthia Nixon got photobombed by the famous Bernie Sanders meme

Nice shelves: Brit Daniel Kaluuya forgot to unmute himself on Zoom when he was announced as the winner in the category for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his role as American activist Fred Hampton in Shaka King’s Judas and the Black Messiah but did give a glimpse into his stunning home

Actor Bill Murray, 70, must have been thrilled to not have to queue up at the bar as he appeared from his huge garden, via video link wearing a loud shirt and holding a martini in hand.

And Sex And The City’s Cynthia Nixon, 54, was photobombed by the famous Bernie Sanders meme as she also appeared from the comfort of her own home.

Brit Daniel Kaluuya forgot to unmute himself on Zoom when he was announced as the winner in the category for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his role as American activist Fred Hampton in Shaka King’s Judas and the Black Messiah but did give a glimpse into his stunning home.

Jason Sudeikis accepted the Best Comedy Actor award for his Ted Lasso role wearing a tie-dye hoodie from his London residence.

The 45-year-old actor also gave a shoutout to his six-year-old son Otis while accepting the coveted award amid a tumultuous time in his life after splitting with Olivia Wilde late last year.

Jason, who’s currently based in London filming the second season of his popular Apple+ show, appeared to be enjoying a regular night in as he accepted the award.

Wearing a vibrant tie-dyed sweatshirt and holding a pen in his hand, he was caught off guard as his name was called out to win.

And he’s back… Jeff was the subject of more than one meme on the night as people could not get over how many doors he had

Jeff’s escape room: The public were mesmerised by Jeff’s layout in his house

‘Wow all right. Can I talk now yeah boy, okay. Yeah, I mean, that’s nuts,’ he said. ‘I want to thank everyone that works on the show. I read this book to my son, Otis, called “The three questions.” It’s three questions … When’s the best time to do things, What is the right thing to do, and then who is the most important one?

‘And that last question, who’s the most important one is like whoever the person you are with. So I kind of reject the premise of being the best actor, because in my humble opinion the best actor is the person you are acting with.

‘So I want to give a shoutout to everyone that I get a chance to act with on the show because they are incredible. Do they make me the best no, but I know for a fact that they make me better. Better than I am better than I thought I could be better than, you know, than, you know, than anything I could do and so, I appreciate everybody looking out.’

As Jason spoke, Don Cheadle began motioning to hurry up, to which Sudeikis responded: ‘And Don’s right. I have to wrap it up,never been my forte. A little windy a little windy thank you, I appreciate you guys and shoutout to my fellow nominees thank you.’

Many of the stars of the night swapping the red carpet for their living room carpets as the Hollywood stars put on a glamorous appearance from home.

Lily Collins, 31, Kate Hudson, 41, and Anya Taylor-Joy, 24, were just some of the names who appeared via video link, but of course were sure to dress up for the occasion.

And they still managed to put on quite a show as they put on their very own photoshoots from home or their hotel rooms, walking around their respective gardens and living rooms.

Live from the (living room) carpet! Lily Collins (pictured) joined the likes of Kate Hudson and Anya Taylor-Joy as the Hollywood stars attended the Golden Globes from home or a hotel on Sunday night

This year’s ceremony, which usually takes place in early January, was pushed back to February 28 as Hollywood continues to adjust to the coronavirus pandemic and new safety guidelines.

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey returned to host for the fourth time. The comedy duo did the honors in 2013, 2014 and 2015. It was the first ever awards show to be broadcast from two separate coasts.

Lily shared her opulent Golden Globes outfit with her 23.1 million Instagram followers as she posed in the garden of the Beverly Hills Hilton hotel.

And she doesn’t even need a cab! Kate channeled her inner Dynasty villain Sunday in an ’80s chic off-the-shoulder dress, for her appearance from her living room, where she was nominated for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical (left)

The actress was at one with nature in a gorgeous golden-hour photoshoot ahead of the ceremony, where she was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series in the comedy or musical category.

This year was a departure, as it marked the first time the Golden Globes were bicoastal due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Amy Poehler hosting from Los Angeles while Tina Fey joined her long-distance from New York City.

Lily’s Yves Saint Laurent dress featured bursts of royal blue, green, brown and gold swirled into hyperactive paisley patterns as she posed in the grounds of the Beverly Hills Hilton hotel.

The dress got extra texture from bunches of gold beads sewn into it, along with thick gold embroidery.

Lily was decked out in Cartier jewelry, including a thick ring with interlocking diamonds and a diamond-encrusted bracelet with red tips.

She posed outdoors under a citrus tree, while her black-and-white photos made her look like her character Rita in David Fincher’s film Mank, which was nominated for several Golden Globes.

Lily was competing in the best actress category for television comedies for her hit Netflix series Emily In Paris, which was a soothing early pandemic binge-watch option for many subscribers.

However, the series received somewhat mixed reviews, and it currently has a 63 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but only a 51 percent rotten rating among the most prestigious television critics.

Kate told E! News: ‘This is my living room and I’ve got my whole family outside and we’re celebrating. It’s been a long time. It’s fun. There is that moment, though, when you do awards ceremonies and you get in the car and everybody’s waving and then you get to the carpet.

‘It’s sort of an adrenaline and I do feel like because I’ve got a big family, my mom and my dad are here and my kids are here, we’re trying to really kind of bring a celebratory feeling to it and it’s fun. I think we should do this more often.’

Anya Taylor-Joy made all the right moves when it came to awards night fashion, stunning in not one but two jaw-dropping looks for the virtual show, posing in the grounds of her hotel.

She earned her first Golden Globe for the chess drama The Queen’s Gambit at Sunday’s 78th annual honors.

The American-born, Argentine-British actress started off in a sparkling emerald green Dior dress with a dramatic neckline before slipping into a classic ivory design to accept her Best Actress In A Limited Series honor.

After doing pre-awards press in green, Anya changed into outfit number two: a timeless strapless white satin number.

Beautiful: Amanda Seyfried opted for a peachy pink Oscar de la Renta dress with a floral neckline that dipped behind her back. She appeared virtually from her hotel room

Taylor-Joy was thrilled to win the category against Cate Blanchett (Mrs America), Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People), Shira Haas (Unorthodox) and Nicole Kidman (The Undoing.)

In her acceptance speech, she thanked streaming giant Netflix for ‘letting us make the show we wanted to make.’
