Jeanine Ann Roose, who starred as a child actor in the holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life, has died at the age of 84.

Roose portrayed Little Violet Bick in the iconic 1946 film. 

She passed away at her Los Angeles home on New Year’s Eve following health issues, according to TMZ.

According to sources, Jeanine had fallen ill in recent months with ‘an infection in her abdomen’, TMZ reported.  

Roose worked as a child actor in the 1940s is most famous for playing Little Violet in It’s a Wonderful Life.

The 1946 Christmas classic is based on the ‘The Greatest Gift’ by Philip Van Doren Stern and tells the story of George Bailey, who continuously sets aside his own dreams to give back to his community.

Yet when a financial crisis pushes him to the brink, an angel named Clarence is forced to intervene to show him how the lives of those he loved would have been changed for the worse if it wasn’t for the kind gestures through which he lived his life.

Roose has a handful of acting credits to her name from when she was a child in Hollywood working in film, television and radio. Her first job was at eight-years-old on The Jack Benny Program.

Her role as Violet Bick in It’s a Wonderful Life was Jeanine’s one and only movie gig.

Roose went on to attend UCLA and pursue a life outside of show business working as a psychologist. 

Jeanine’s passing comes the day after legendary comedy actress Betty White died at the age of 99. White was just shy of her 100th birthday on January 17th.  

The TV icon, who is said to have died at her home on Friday, was not battling any particular ailments and did not have a sudden illness, a source close to the star told TMZ.

A film celebrating the 100th birthday of White will still be released as planned.

The producers of Betty White: 100 Years Young said in a statement that they ‘will go forward’ with plans to release the movie special on her birthday and it will serve as a celebration of her incredible life and career.
