Kate Beckinsale ensured she commanded attention as she gave fans another tongue-in-cheek update from Canada on Monday evening.

The British actress, 47, showed off her slender physique in a semi-sheer basque and thigh-skimming tiered PVC skirt while posing for her latest selfie.

She added to her look with a pair of thigh-high boots, while liberally applied make-up drew further attention to her naturally pretty features.

The actress was preparing for a return to her Los Angeles home after working on a location shoot in Alberta for forthcoming show Guilty Party with actor Geoff Stults and make-up artist Chase Aston.

Referencing both in an accompanying caption, Kate joked about stepping out to grab some Poutine, a native Canadian dish consisting of chips topped with cheese curds and gravy, before leaving the country.

She wrote: ‘Popping out to get some poutine. @chase_aston is muttering about Pot Noodles and @geoffmstults spent at least 17 weeks trying to see a moose. We might need to get out of Canada.’

The post comes after Kate shared memories and tributes to her late actor father Richard Beckinsale, who died suddenly in 1979 at the age of 31.

Captioning an image of a grinning Richard – best known for his roles in sitcoms Rising Damp and Porridge – alongside a picture of herself, she wrote: ‘Just wanted to post this so we are smiling side by side in my feed.

‘The best part is he’s looking at me, actually, in his photo. So happy to carry on the family smile.’

Kate was just five when Richard suffered a fatal heart attack at the family’s Berkshire home. A post-mortem later revealed he had coronary artery disease at the time of his death.

Of losing her father, the Hollywood actress said in 2013: ‘It was a terrible loss. It’s so weird as a five-year-old to look out in the street and see people reading the paper and crying while you’re crying and your mum is crying and your granny’s crying.

‘Even though it was the worst loss that I have experienced I was able to share it with people who genuinely, even if they didn’t know him, really seemed to love him.

‘I feel not many people are in that position – to have lost somebody and also to feel like that’s something really relevant to other people.’
