Kate Ferdinand goes make-up free in stunning baby bump snap as she begins maternity leave

Pregnant Kate Ferdinand is expecting her second baby any day now and reveals she's finally putting her feet up as her maternity leave begins.

Sharing an update with her fans, the former TOWIE star revealed she and husband Rio Ferdinand, 44, were recording the final episode of their Blended podcast ahead of the birth of their baby girl.

Dressed in her staple tight-fitting black maternity vest and leggings, the 32-year-old shared a make-up free pic in her spacious bedroom at the Kent home she shares with Rio and children Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, Tia, 12, and two-year-old Cree.

The reality star announced that she was expecting her second child with former football Rio back in January, following a tragic miscarriage six months previously.

Kate's new baby will be the second that her and Rio share together, but Kate is also a devoted step-mum to Rio's three older children from his marriage to Rebecca Ellison, who tragically died in 2015 after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

They launched their Blended podcast in 2022 in "celebration of blended families". As well as discussing the ups and downs of navigating their life with their soon-to-be five children, they regularly invite guests on to discuss their own experiences.

Posting on her Instagram stories this week, Kate celebrated the final recording before her maternity leave begins.

"For a really long time I wanted to start this but just didn’t have the confidence," she wrote. "It’s only sometimes when you take a minute to reflect you can see how far you have come."

She went on to thank their fans for their support, adding, "It really does mean the world to me! Now time to rest & reset for baby.".

Sharing some of her favourite moments, Kate also posted a picture of a recording session with fellow Towie star and friend Lydia Bright, mum to three-year-old Loretta.

She added, "Wow, it’s been a long series and I’ve met so many amazing people along the way."

After revealing they were expecting again, Kate and Rio shared on the podcast that they held a special gender reveal in March with all their children but it didn't go quite to plan.

Rio recalled: "We all sat down, cameras ready to film it for memories, and then we all take a bite of the first six cupcakes and no one of them has the colour.

"So it’s pink or blue, for girl or boy, and we’re all shouting and because everyone is shouting so loud, Cree in the middle just starts hysterically crying."

Fortunately teenager Lorenz managed to pick the special cake to find that it was coloured pink inside.
