Kevin Costner and Christine divorce finally settled with very low child support

Kevin Costner has luck on his side as it has been confirmed his divorce from Christine Baumgartner has finally been settled.

The Yellowstone actor will give less than half of what Christine currently gets in child support payments after the judge sided with the Hollywood actor.

Kevin’s legal team, headed by Laura Wasser, won a series of legal court dates, particularly in the child support department.

The Bodyguard star must give Christine $63,000 each month for their three children – after she originally asked for a staggering $248,000.

Prior to this, the former handbag designer had been getting $129,000 in temporary support.

The estranged couple share sons Cayden, 15, and Hayes, 14, as well as daughter Grace, 12.

Christine has also now reportedly moved into a rental home since, and has expressed dissatisfaction with her $40,000 per month Santa Barbara apartment.

The rental is very spacious, has an acre of land, a jacuzzi, and proximity to a wooded hiking trail.

In a previous hearing, with the Hollywood actor present, Christine argued that his beachfront mansion was far more superior than her own rental.

Baumgartner claimed that in the rental home, her two sons would have to share a bathroom while her daughter would share hers “with the house”.

Christine has continually argued that she asked for so much support as she wanted her children to have a comparable lifestyle with her as her father.

When the payments were dropped to $63k, Christine was set to be “shocked” and “disappointed”.

A source told the MailOnline: “Christine is shocked. She said even Kevin looked shocked. Everyone looked shocked.

“To say Christine is disappointed is an understatement. She described the ruling as a complete joke.”

After a two-day hearing in court, the exes both took to the stand separately to share what they thought was a “reasonable” amount.

During Christine’s time on the stand in a Santa Barbara courthouse, she admitted she had intentions to go back to school and also get a job, per People.

Following the child support cut, Christine asked for a whopping $885,000 to cover legal fees in the latest update on the former couple’s divorce proceedings.

Since the divorce has been settled there has been no mention of this request, making it appear to be off the table.
