However back in March, it appeared Gary didn’t check with Laura if she was alright with him announcing the baby’s gender to their legions of social media followers.
A source told MailOnline: ‘Gary announced the gender news without checking it was ok with Laura.
‘She’s extremely shocked and upset by this and was hoping to do something special for it later this year.’
Laura previously told Goss.ie that she would share the gender of her baby ‘in due course.’
Gary shared a photo of a recent scan to his Instagram Story, and a graphic that read: ‘Daddy’s girl.’
Alongside the snaps, he penned: ‘For everyone that’s been asking. Let’s hope she inherits her mother’s looks. Can’t wait to meet you baby bear.’

Oddly, Laura claimed in an interview released in December that she and Gary had not done anything more than kissing.
Laura insisted they were holding off on the physical side of their romance, saying: ‘We haven’t done anything else even though it probably seems like we have because we’re all over each other, but we’re keeping it PG while we’re on the show.’
She told OK! magazine at the time: ‘He makes me feel comfortable and he makes me feel quite adored and protected, which is really nice. He’s a gentleman.
‘I really like that he’s got four kids, because his kids are so cute and they’re his world. He sends me videos and pictures of them and I just think that’s so attractive.’
She added: ‘He’s a really good kisser too, which is always good!’
Gary and Laura met while filming E4 show Celebs Go Dating and Laura was by Gary’s side as he crashed his car in a Boxing Day accident, which saw him narrowly miss serious injury.
After professing their love for each other on Instagram, the couple split and removed any trace of their relationship, including photos of them together at Christmas, from social media.

Gary, famed for his roles in Hollyoaks and Footballers’ Wives, has four children with ex-wife Natasha Gray and previously said his romance with Laura was his first real connection since his 2018 divorce.
Laura was previously in a relationship with singer Dane Bowers but they announced they had split for good in August 2022.
They first struck up a relationship in 2017 before splitting when he cheated on her, rekindling their romance in 2021.
In May last year, Laura shared with her Instagram followers that she and Dane were having IVF treatment after struggling to fall pregnant.
After they split, Laura packed up her belongings and moved out of the Dubai home she shared with Dane just days later.
Laura found fame on Love Island in 2018, where she made it to the final with model ex-boyfriend Paul Knops.
The couple split shortly after the show finished and Laura then went onto have romances with Love Island 2015 winner Max Morley and The Bachelor UK star Alex Marks.
During her time on Love Island, the former air stewardess dated Wes Nelson and Jack Fowler, with her journey later being described as ‘rocky at best.’
She joined the Celebs Go Dating agency last year, where she met actor Gary, who had struggled to find a connection since his 2018 divorce.
During the final episode of the series, Gary told the dating experts that he found love with Laura and felt she ‘ticked all the boxes.’
He said: ‘I have found someone that makes me really happy, makes me smile and I’m really attracted to, I can chill with, who gives me s***, which I like… I need that as well. I couldn’t be happier at the moment.’
Gary remained coy when asked by Paul Brunson and Anna Williamson whether him and Laura had sex during filming of the show in Cyrus, saying: ‘I’m a gentleman, I don’t talk about stuff like that…’

But it wasn’t long after going public with their romance that Laura quickly removed all trace of Gary from her Instagram and the couple split.
Writing on Instagram, she said: ‘I know I’ve been quiet on here and not myself this week or so.
‘I’m going through a very difficult time, I actually don’t think I’ve ever felt so stressed in my life.
‘As we know Instagram isn’t real life but over sharing negativity has never been something I like doing. Anyway my thought of the day for us all is – Never lose yourself or your voice.’
And before the post, she re-shared another which talked about ‘the quality of attention’ rather than the speed of a person’s replies.
Hollyoaks star Gary had a tough time after splitting from his ex-wife.
The actor ending their marriage was a ‘difficult decision’ but the former couple’s focus remained bringing up their four children India, now 18, Elvis, 12, and Sadie, eight and Theodore, four, who was born weeks after they announced their split.
A spokesman for the couple told MailOnline at the time: ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the end of our marriage.
‘This was a very difficult decision, but was reached mutually and amicably. No other parties are involved.
‘Our priority is, as always, our children. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision, just two best friends realising it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives possible.
We are still a family and will always be loving, dedicated parents.’
Gary – known for his roles on The Bill, Footballers’ Wives, Hollyoaks and EastEnders – tied the knot with Natasha Gray back in 2014.
Before marriage, the couple had been together for a decade.
