Liam Payne channelled his inner Jack Sparrow as he sported a pirate-style braid during a day out to Wimbledon with his girlfriend, Kate, who in turn channelled Barbie in a pink dress.

Former One Direction star Liam, 29, rocked a short-sleeved cream linen top with baggy cargo pants and chunky trainers tied up with a thick ribbon.

His dark hair was tousled into casual disarray, but he edged up the look with a braid at the front, which had a number of beads at the end.

Liam's girlfriend of around a year, Kate Cassidy, 24, looked like she had taken inspiration from a Barbie doll, in a pink shift dress, which featured embroidered pockets at the front.

She accessorised with white stiletto heels, a matching designer bag and Prada sunglasses, while her long blonde hair was worn down.

The pair clutched hands as they walked to the grounds and, prior to that, Liam posted a video of them in the car, as he wrote: "Wimbledon. Barbie and cpt Jack."

They also popped to an Evian stand, which was decked out with giant pale pink tennis balls which they both sat on as they posed for a snap.

After watching a tennis match, they indulged in some strawberries and cream, which Kate posted a photo of to her Instagram Stories.

Liam and Kate's loved-up appearance came after Liam revealed he spent 100 days in rehab last year, after hitting rock bottom, following an appearance on Logan Paul's podcast.

In a candid video posted on his YouTube channel, Liam said: "I kind of became someone who I didn’t really recognise any more. I was so angry at what was going on around me that instead of taking a look inwards I decided to take it outwards on everybody else."

He also took the time to express gratitude to his ex-girlfriend, former X Factor judge, Cheryl, whom he split from in 2018 after a two-year relationship, and their six-year-old son Bear, acknowledging their role in giving him the freedom to focus on his wellbeing.

He said: “There is a point when you hit rock bottom and you realise you have got to do something different as whatever you are doing right now isn’t working for you. I was in bad shape up until that point

“Honestly, more than anything I want to say thank you to Bear and his mum for giving me a little bit of freedom to go and get well. There is no point trying to be a dad when you have nothing to teach."
