Lori Loughlin makes first appearance on red carpet since college admissions scandal at DesignCare 2022 Gala in LA
Lori Loughlin made her first red carpet appearance in more than three years Saturday in Los Angeles, since she was involved in a college admissions scandal that led her to serve almost two months in prison.
Loughlin, 57, was at RJ’s Place for the DesignCare 2022 Gala, benefitting the HollyRod Foundation, which is actress Holly Robinson Peete and husband Rodney Peete’s nonprofit organization aimed at helping families impacted by a loved one’s diagnosis of autism or Parkinson’s Disease.
The Full House actress, who played Rebecca ‘Aunt Becky’ Katsopolis on the ABC comedy and its Netflix reboot, donned a long-sleeved ocean blue dress with silver strappy heels and a boxy silver clutch purse.

The Queens, New York-born beauty wore her dark blonde locks down and parted at the event, which marked her first red carpet walk since attending a Beverly Hills, California gala from The Women’s Cancer Research Fund in February of 2019, according to Page Six.
Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, 59, were indicted in 2019 in connection with allegations they paid admissions fixer Rick Singer $500,000 to arrange for the University of Southern California to recruit their daughters Isabella Rose, 23, and Olivia Jade, 22, onto the school’s rowing team, despite that they had no background in the sport.
In May of 2020, the celeb couple pleaded guilty in connection with conspiracy charges in the case.
Loughlin received a two-month jail sentence along with a fine of $150,000 and 150 hours of community service following the guilty plea. She began her sentence at a federal prison in Dublin, California in October of 2020 and was released that December.

Giannulli received a five-month sentence with a fine of $250,000 and 250 hours of community service. He began his prison sentence in November of 2020 and was transferred to home confinement in April of 2021, about a month before his sentence ended.
Loughlin has kept a relatively low profile since he release from prison, as she attended a party Kris Jenner hosted this past February.
Professionally, Loughlin’s legal troubles kept her sidelined from Fuller House’s fifth season and her return to the small screen came late last year appearing on a two-part Christmas special for the series When Hope Calls.

Loughlin was lauded by both of her daughters in November on Olivia Jade’s podcast, Conversations with Olivia Jade, where Olivia Jade said seeing negative coverage of her mother amid her legal problems ‘was really hard for’ her.
‘It was frustrating and it caused a lot of like, anger within me when I would read stuff about her,’ Olivia Jade said, describing Loughlin as ‘the most incredible mother in the world.’
Isabella Rose spoke to Loughlin’s professionalism, saying, ‘I don’t think one person who’s ever worked with Mom can say something bad about her because she’s genuinely the nicest person alive.’
