Jacques O’Neill has hinted that he could leave the Love Island villa as he said there was ‘no point’ him being there after his romance with Paige Thorne hit the rocks.

The rugby player, 23, appeared emotional as he confided in Luca Bish about his relationship with the paramedic, 23.

Thursday night’s recoupling episode saw Paige return from Casa Amor and reunite with Jacques, only for his infidelities to be exposed by bombshell Cheyanne Kerr.

Paige then confronted Jacques and was left devastated after finding out he had shared kisses with Cheyanne during the three days they were apart.

And in a preview clip for Friday night’s episode, Jacques was heard telling his pal Luca, 23, that there was ‘no point’ him staying in the villa.

In between tears, an emotional Jacques whispered: ‘No point me being here.’

The fishmonger tried to reassure his friend, saying: ‘Mate she’s gonna forgive you.’

Emotional: Paige was then seen crying as she broke down to Dami Hope after learning of Jacques’ infidelities 

But Jacques insisted: ‘I won’t let her forgive me.’

Elsewhere in the preview clip, an enraged Paige was heard asking Jacques: ‘What the f**k were you doing all that time Jacques?’

Paige was then seen crying as she broke down to Dami Hope, though fans pointed out that he was not the best person to confide in having egged on the boys to hook up with the new girls.

In Friday night’s episode, Paige is also set to question Jacques on why he kissed Cheyanne if he ‘genuinely’ liked her.

In a tense chat, Paige says: says: ‘I get Casa is a test, but it’s only a test if you want it to be a test and you only want tests if you feel like something is missing or if you feel like something’s not 100 per cent.

Elsewhere in the preview clip, an enraged Paige was heard asking Jacques of his time when she was in Casa Amor: ‘What the f**k were you doing all that time Jacques?’

‘Why did you do it if you didn’t have any of those things with her [Cheyanne] or if you genuinely felt that way about me? Because it’s not adding up. I’m not sure you quite understand how…’

To which Jacques says: ‘Look I know you’re hurt mate, I know you are. You deserve better…’

But Paige asks: ‘Well, why couldn’t you just have been better then?’

In Thursday’s recoupling episode, Jacques first decided that he was going to stick with Paige, leaving the brunette visibly delighted as she returned to the villa alone.

But he found himself at the head of a furious row as his infidelities were exposed by blonde bombshell Cheyanne.

When Jacques admitted he decided to stay loyal, Cheyanne was visibly furious, and didn’t hold back when asked by host Laura Whitmore whether she was disappointed that none of the boys had chosen her.

She revealed: ‘I though I had a connection with someone… I suppose my version of a test was different to someone else’s….’

Asked which boy she’d felt a connection with, Cheyanne turned to Jacques and said his name, leaving him visibly furious and Paige utterly speechless.

Attempting to justify his decision, Jacques said: ‘I wanted to see what I’ve got with Paige is real. I wanted to see if something could be better… but it wasn’t.’

Drama: In Thursday’s recoupling episode, Jacques decided he was going to stick with Paige, nut he found himself at the head of a furious row as his infidelities were exposed by Cheyanne 

‘It’s not really what you want to hear when you come back.’ Paige added, insisting she did remain loyal in Casa Amor.

Paige then pulled Jacques aside to confront him about his behaviour, with him quickly admitting: ‘One night we had a good chat and we kissed… after that I got in bed and we had another kiss. If you can’t accept that then I understand, if that takes a few days or a few weeks.’

Paige added: ‘You can get to know people without kissing them, I would never do that to someone I cared about,’ breaking down in tears as she ran into the villa.

The drama in the Love Island villa continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVHub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
