Love Island viewers were left cringing on Tuesday night after PE teacher Hugo Hammond continued to utter the phrase ‘moving mad’ throughout the episode.

In the episode, Hugo, 24, spent the second day in the Casa Amor villa scoping out potential new lovers, insisting he was going to ‘move mad’ and chat to as many of the new bombshells as possible.

Disgruntled fans were quick to criticise Hugo’s use of the phrase, with one person insisting ‘he should be voted out for that’ and another adding: ‘I’m reporting it to Ofcom’, while some pointed out that middle class Hugo’s use of the slang term was ‘weird’.

Oh dear: Love Island viewers were left cringing on Tuesday night after PE teacher Hugo Hammond, 24, continued to utter the phrase ‘mad moves’ throughout the episode

‘Wherever Hugo comes from they do not say ”I’m gonna be moving mad”, who taught him this, can he please stop it sounds weird coming from him,’ tweeted one person after watching Tuesday’s episode.

‘Hugo has just inspired a million middle class white kids to start telling everyone they’re ”moving mad” and he should be voted out for that,’ echoed another.

A third person wrote: ‘CAN HUGO PLEASE STOP SAYING ”move mad”,’ as someone else asked: ‘Who taught Hugo ”moving mad”?’

A fifth Twitter used penned: ‘If Hugo says ”moves/moving mad” one more time I’ll fly there myself. Who taught you this and can they revoke it ASAP.’

Not happy: Disgruntled fans were quick to criticise Hugo’s use of the phrase, with one person insisting ‘he should be voted out for that’

‘Hugo needs to stop saying ”moving mad” it’s so forced,’ said a sixth social media user, with a seventh adding: ‘Hugo is embarrassing himself left, right, and center. Stop. Saying. Moving. Mad..’

An eighth joked: ‘If Hugo says ”Moving Mad” tomorrow…. I’m reporting it to Ofcom.’

It’s not the first time Hugo has come under fire for his on-show antics.

Last week, fans were left fuming after he branded himself a ‘player with options’ during a chat with the lads about then new girl Georgia Townend.

Middle class: Others pointed out that middle class Hugo’s use of the slang term was ‘weird’

In the episode, the blonde beauty beauty made it clear how much she liked Hugo with the teacher taken aback with her forwardness, before telling his pals that he also wants to get to know Abigail too.

But fans at home questioned Hugo’s motives and accused him of being on the show for a ‘free holiday’, with many even asking why he’s in the villa.

During his three-week stint on the show, Hugo has struggled to find connections with the other girls, while in the space of a week he friend-zoned both Sharon and AJ, who were consequently dumped from the villa.

With fans having consistently rooting for Hugo to find a girl, it appears their support has now grown thin as Hugo struggled to make his mind up.
