Lucinda Strafford has broken her silence over speculation that she got back together with her footballer ex Aaron Connolly before going on the hit ITV dating show Love Island.
Previous reports claimed that Premier League star Aaron, 21, considered the blonde bombshell his girlfriend and was looking after her pet bulldog during her time in the luxurious Majorcan villa.
However, Lucinda has rubbished those claims, stating that she was "completely and utterly single" during her time on the show.
The reality star, who also revealed she had ended things with Love Island partner Aaron Francis, explained that she and the athlete had an unceremonious split back in March before working on their friendship.
Speaking to MailOnline while back in the UK following her dumping, Lucinda said: "Never in a million years would I go on Love Island if I was in a relationship, and I'm sure if I had a boyfriend, he wouldn't be very happy with it either.
'We ended quite dramatically at the start of March, but then we made friends, and we share a dog, it's a shared dog, and he's been looking after it."
Lucinda added that the "ship had sailed" between the exes, and when he found out that she was going on the show, he was "shocked".
The Sun initially reported that Aaron drove Lucinda to the airport ahead of appearing on the show, but she clarified that it was simply a "funny rumour", and she got a taxi to the airport.
Lucinda went on to admit that 72 hours after her and Aaron's dumping from the villa, they have agreed to part ways.
"Unfortunately, both of us didn't find actual love in the villa. We're great friends. I know that I can come to him for anything. The aim of the game is to find love, and I did really want to… I made amazing friends in there," she told the publication.

Talking after the exit, Aaron said: "It's disappointing to be leaving the villa, it feels like my family, I've been there from the start, and obviously I'm really happy to be leaving with Lucinda anyway. I can't imagine leaving by myself!"
