Love Island’s Shaughna Phillips hits out at troll who said she needs to lose weight

Love Island alum Shaughna Phillips has hit back at a social media troll who said she needed to lose weight.

The reality star welcomed her daughter Lucia in April, and has been settling into mum life ever since, keeping fans updated on her motherhood experience throughout. Recently, she responded to a nasty comment by a social media user who made the decision to fat shame the new mum.

The vile tweet simply read: "I mean you do need to get some weight off", which Shaughna shared on Twitter and simply said: "Some people are so strange. Imagine going up to a stranger and saying this to their face lol".

She was met with an outpouring of support, with fans stunned by the toll's remarks. One said: "You don’t need to do anything your great the way you are", while another penned: "What a weirdo. She has no picture and you look great!"

A third made reference to the anonymous nature of the troll's social media page and said: "The fact that her profile picture is non existent speaks volumes!" Another agreed and added: "Always the ones with no profile pictures lmao. Literally no leg to stand on."

The former Islander's clapback comes after she previously hit out at mum-shamers who slammed her after she swore in a video clip with her baby girl. The comedic 'day in the life' video was created from the point-of-view of her baby daughter Lucia, and included quite a bit of profanity – much to the dismay of some Instagram users.

The reality star shared a screenshot of a message she had received in response to the footage, which read: "Cannot believe that you would allow this foul language to be associated with your beautiful baby girl.

"What's happened to you Shaughna? I have always respected you and been so impressed by how you handle yourself, this isn't funny or clever sweetheart x". Responding to the message directly, the new mum wrote: "What happened to me? Seriously?

"I think you'll find it's absolutely hilarious and if you don't find it funny maybe unfollow me instead of sending me patronising messages. Because there will be more and it's obviously not your cup of tea."

Shaughna also shared a video response, which saw her talking to her baby daughter and saying: "Seriously after this day no more swearing. I'm having people message me on Instagram saying I'm a bad mum because you've got such a foul mouth. I'll give you one more day but after tomorrow, absolutely no more swearing alright, it's just getting out of control."
