One of Meghan Markle's close friends – Mandana Dayani – is believed to have inadvertently proven that the Duchess of Sussex has relaunched a personal Instagram account, after she and husband Prince Harry ditched social media in 2020.
The former Suits actress' gal pal – with whom she worked closely alongside during the filming of the ex-royals' Netflix docu-series – followed the new page, which is understood to have gone live this weekend, yesterday.
Mandala is now listed as one of '@meghan's' 104,000 followers, joining the likes of author and activist Malala Yousafzai in implying it's a real account to be used by mum-of-two Meghan, 42.
The American star quit social media back in 2020 after the Sussexes officially opted to step down from royal duties, with she and Harry having shared a joint royal account.
Meghan's team also confirmed this weekend that she is currently planning to "re-launch" a rebranded side to herself, and will be taking Instagram back up in order to get her message across.
An inside source close to the family confirmed the account belongs to the Duchess – who confirmed her attendance to the upcoming Invictus games last week – adding: "Yes, that’s her. Expect an announcement very soon. She’s coming back."
Though the account is yet to be used for either photo uploads of Instagram stories, the handle has a picture of pink peonies, which are allegedly Meghan's favourite flowers.
A source told The Mail on Sunday: "Everyone in Hollywood is talking about the re-launch being imminent. Meghan has never made any secret of the fact she wants to return to Instagram."
Prior to her allegedly incoming social media 'comeback' – and before marrying into the British monarchy – Meghan ran a successful lifestyle and wellbeing website called The Tig, named in honour of her favourite Italian wine, Tignanello.
Unlike her previous posts however, PR and branding expert Mayah Riaz believes she could soon follow in the footsteps of other A-list celebs that use their social media profiles to influence their followers sponsored posts and advertising campaigns.
Believing Meghan could earn up to $1million per Instagram post, Mayah told The Mirror: "It's hugely speculated that Meghan has secured the account @Meghan, which has no posts and a photo of flowers as a profile photo.
"It already has nearly 90k followers and once confirmed it's her account, the followers will grow astronomically. Meghan's Instagram account could become quite lucrative for her."
