Meghan Markle’s Friends Are Coming to Her Defense: “Find Someone Else to Admonish”
The royal family and the British press seem to be doing everything in their power to deflect attention from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey. Their latest attack involves a bullying complaint from one of Meghan’s former advisers, who is claiming that she “drove two personal assistants out of the household and undermined the confidence of a third staff member” during her time at Kensington Palace in 2018.
The Duchess of Sussex has denied the claims and is “saddened” by them. “Let’s just call this what it is — a calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation,” her spokesperson told the UK’s The Times in a statement earlier this week. “It’s no coincidence that distorted several-year-old accusations aimed at undermining The Duchess are being briefed to the British media shortly before she and The Duke are due to speak openly and honestly about their experience of recent years.” Buckingham Palace has also addressed the allegations, saying it is “clearly very concerned” and has launched an investigation.
Of course, anyone who has been keeping up with Meghan shouldn’t be surprised by these new claims. Ever since Meghan began dating Harry in 2016, the British media has been hellbent on tarnishing her reputation, even though she’s no longer a working royal, nor does she live in the UK. Well, Meghan’s friends have had enough. Following the allegations, Meghan’s close friends, including actor Patrick J. Adams, TV producer Lindsay Jill Roth, makeup artist Daniel Martin, and director Silver Tree, have all come to her defense on social media. Keep reading to see their statements ahead of Meghan and Harry’s explosive CBS interview, which airs on Sunday.
