Morrissey fans have been left fuming after the singer quit playing a Los Angeles show after just 30 minutes.

The Smiths frontman, 63, was playing a solo gig at the Greek theatre on Saturday when he left the stage abruptly.

Before his exit, he was heard saying: ‘As I think you know, it’s extremely cold. Can you tell? I can. However, we will steam on, where to? Who knows.’ The temperature in Los Angeles was 53 degrees Farenheit at the time.

His band were left confused on the stage for several minutes before departing as well. 

One band member came back onstage to tell the audience: ‘Sorry, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the show is not going to continue. 

He added: ‘Very sorry. We’ll see you next time’ over loud boos from the crowd.

Morrissey’s official Instagram said: ‘Thank you for coming out last night, LA. We love you and are grateful for your support. 

‘Please stand by for further announcements coming shortly.’ 

No official reason has been given for the cancellation yet, but several fans online have suggested that Morrissey was ‘too cold’ in the outdoor venue.

One person at the event tweeted: ‘So, #Morrissey just walked off the stage at @Greek_Theatre after 30 min. Apparently he was too cold. Meanwhile, it’s in the 50s.’

While another person said: ‘Morrissey legit just cancelled his concert 5 songs in because he was ‘cold’ after starting almost an hour late… BRO WHAT we spent 300 dollars on each ticket and won’t get refunded.’ 

Fans were left angry by the singer’s actions and took to the comments and Twitter to voice their frustration.

One said: ‘This sucks! Why cancel so suddenly at the Greek theatre’.

Another echoed: ‘We are so bummed about the show being canceled half way through. Over $1,500 in tickets and parking. People make sacrifices to attend these shows.’

A third agreed, writing: ‘SPENT LIKE 450 JUST FOR HIM TO STOP 30 MINUTES IN HIS SET DONT BUY TICKETS FOR HIS SHOW ITS A WASTE OF MONEY AND GAS’.

And a fourth wrote: ‘If you can’t hang, don’t tour anymore. Money is tight for everyone these days & people saved money to see you, what a disappointment you are.’ 

However, one fan came to Morrissey’s defence and wrote: ‘I think it’s absolutely right that a man in his 60’s makes his health & well-being a priority, even if it means rescheduling a show. 

‘Sad that so many people that are apparently big enough fans to go to a Morrissey show are angry at him for the unforgivable crime of being human.’
