‘I exceeded what I thought I could do’: Patsy Palmer is voted OFF Dancing On Ice after pulling out the stops for Spice Girls routine during Icons Week

Patsy Palmer left Dancing On Ice on Sunday night after finding herself in the skate off with Darrien Harriott.

The 50-year-old EastEnders actress said she was proud of herself and thanked her partner Matt.

Patsy said: ‘I’ve met the best people ever, we’ve been like one big family. I’ve proved I can and exceeded what I thought I can do.’

Matt said: ‘You have turned out to be an absolute joy and I’m so proud of what you’ve accomplished.’ 

Patsy and Matt danced off first to Never Forget You by the Noisettes followed by Darrien and Tippy.

The judges unanimously decided to save Darrien and Tippy, with Ashley Banjo saying: ‘You should both be very proud, you’ve improved so much.’

Oti Mabuse said: ‘It could be anyone in skate off but the strongest skate was Darren.’

Chris Torvill said: ‘It’s been wonderful watching both teams and the progress they’ve made.’

Earlier in the night, Patsy and Matt were looking for a come back after last week, dancing to Spice Up Your Life by the Spice Girls.

She performed in Geri Halliwell’s iconic Union Jack dress and even got some tips from Emma Bunton herself.

The judges gave her a score 26.5 out of 40 with Matt saying she had been ‘incredible’ and was ‘blown away’.

Oti said in her comments: ‘I love watching you skate, you are getting better every week.’ 

Chris chimed in: ‘You’re skating with more confidence, but now we need to up the moves’.

Bottom two: Patsy and Matt danced off first to Never Forget You by the Noisettes followed by Darrien and Tippy

Ashley added: ‘You set yourself challenges every week, and I thought you have smashed it.’        

Siva Kaneswaran was absent from the show after falling ill, and Phillip Schofield wished him well at the start of the episode. 

Joey Essex and Vanessa were up first up and danced to Elton John and he successfully completed the judge’s challenge.

Ashley gave him an 8, as well as Jayne, while Chris and Oti gave an 8.5 giving them a score of 33.0.

After skating, Joey said: ‘That’s the most fun I’ve had since I was a kid’. 

Jayne said: ‘You’ve improved so much, and you looked like you were in control this week.’

Unwell: Siva Kaneswaran was absent from the show after falling ill, and Phillip Schofield wished him well at the start of the episode

Oti added: ‘You are getting better, you’re entertaining people and you look like you belong so well done’.

Chris said: ‘It was your best skate so far,’ while Ashley said: ‘You pull it off with showmanship!’ 

Nile Wilson was thrilled to get to be Robbie Williams for his skate to Let Me Entertain You.

Nile wore a black and white jumpsuit with his chest uncovered and the iconic face paint as he skated up a storm with Olivia.

He smashed it out of the park and got four nines from the judges for a combined score of 36.0 – the highest score of the series and topped the leaderboard.

Chris said: ‘Spin tick, entertaining tick, on the way to do a Bolero tick.’

Ashley added: ‘Not only did you bring the technique, but you characterisation was on point’.

Jayne said: ‘I just love how you incorporate you gymnastic techniques but it flows on the ice’. 

Darren was next and he was becoming George Michael, saying he was going to bring some ‘swagger’ to his performance.

Dancing to I’m Your Man by Wham! he wore a T-shirt emblazoned with the words: ‘Choose Darren’.

He joked afterwards: ‘I was so nervous, it was brave putting me in white trousers’.

Ashley praised: ‘Even if it felt slower and more reserved, it was neater and more refined, just keep on that path.’

While Oti encouraged: ”I love that you’re growing. You’re showing us you’re focused, good luck!’

Chris added: ‘You did what we asked, you improved your skating!’ 

Joker: He joked afterwards: ‘I was so nervous, it was brave putting me in white trousers’

The Vivienne was dancing to Beyoncé’s Halo and revealed that he was dancing as James rather than as his drag queen persona.

He said: ‘This is going to be the most raw and open I’ve been. There’s gonna be nothing to hide behind.’

They got scores of 8, 8.5, 8.5 and 8.5 giving them their highest score of 33.5 out of 40.

He said after: ‘It’s been a really emotional week, doing it without my armour and I had some diarrhea this morning.’

Chris added: ‘What impresses me is your quality of skating its second to none’.

Ashley gushed: ‘You are a great skater and what impressed me where how you performed through your mistakes.’

Carley was up next dancing to Dusty Springfield’s Take Another Little Piece Of My Heart in a leggy minidress.

Beautiful: The Vivienne was dancing to Beyoncé’s Halo and revealed that he was dancing as James rather than as his drag queen persona

Powerful: He said: ‘This is going to be the most raw and open I’ve been. There’s gonna be nothing to hide behind’

She got four 8.5s from the judges giving her a 34.0 and her highest score so far.

Jayne commented: ‘As usual a great performance from you both, well done it was brilliant.’

Ashley added: ‘The choreography, the musicality and refinement of your movement -beautiful guys.’

Legs for days: Carley was up next dancing to Dusty Springfield’s Take Another Little Piece Of My Heart in a leggy minidress

Emotional: Jayne commented: ‘As usual a great performance from you both, well done it was brilliant’

Mollie was the last one up and she became Billie Eilish to try and do the first headbanger. 

She achieved it successfully but only managed three 7.5s and a 8.0 from the judges giving her a 30.5.

Chris said: ‘What I loved, you looked really engaged and passionate.’

While Ashley added: ‘Definitely your best performance and I think this is your best week.’

Impressive: Mollie was the last one up and she became Billie Eilish to try and do the first headbanger

Oti said: ‘This week you really paid attention to detail, and that head banger was so beautiful’.

Viewers were then treated to a performance by the cast of Back To The Future: The Musical. 

Dancing On Ice will return next Sunday for Movie Week.
