Meghan Markle made a formal complaint to Ofcom over Piers Morgan’s comments about her mental health, it has been revealed.
The Duchess of Sussex, 39, logged the formal complaint to the broadcasting regulator after Piers, 55, criticised her in a series of scathing rants on Good Morning Britain.
Before storming off set and later quitting GMB, Piers came under fire for saying he “didn’t believe” Prince Harry’s wife when she said she had suffered with suicidal thoughts and sought help from the institution in her interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Piers later backtracked on his comments and insisted: “It’s not for me to question, whether she felt suicidal – I wasn’t in her mind and that’s for her to say. My real concern was a disbelief, frankly – and I’m prepared to be proven wrong for this and if I’m wrong then this is a scandal.”

After he quit the ITV morning show, it was revealed that Meghan had made a complaint to ITV about his comments on mental health.
Now, it has been revealed that The Duchess of Sussex also made a comment to Ofcom.
A spokesperson for the watchdog said in a statement: “We can confirm receipt of a standards complaint made on behalf of the Duchess of Sussex.”
After the news broke, Piers reacted on Twitter as he wrote: “Where do I get to complain about all the shameful lies/smears in their interview & the terrible damage they've done to the Queen's mental health as her 99-yr-old husband spends his fourth week in hospital?“
Piers’ rant on Meghan has now become the most complained about moment of the decade, according to Mirror, after is received more than 41,000 complaints.
It’s understood, according to Sky News, that Meghan’s concerns are thought to centre around the effect the comments may have on mental health generally and those attempting to deal with their own problems, rather than his attack on her.
Later, after the outspoken presenter left GMB, he shared a statement to reiterate his comments that he “didn’t believe” the Duchess on a series of comments he made on the show.
He wrote on Twitter: “On Monday, I said I didn’t believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview.

“I’ve had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don’t. If you did, OK.

Underneath the comment he shared an image of a quote from Winston Churchill next to an image of the former Prime Minister.
It read: “Some people’s idea of free speech is that they are free to day what they like, but if anyone says anything back that is an outrage.”
