Former star of ITV soap Emmerdale, Roxanne Pallett has opened up about her concern for her firefighter husband Jason Carrion.
The actress, 38, announced she is expecting her first child with Jason, 35, back in June but has recently admitted to “fearing” for her husband’s safety as he works as a New York firefighter.
Roxanne told MailOnline about how she “prays” for his safety in the dangerous work he does.
She said: “I wait. I pray. I remind myself he's the strongest and smartest man I've ever known. He will be okay. He is okay. I tell myself this a lot.”
“I glance at my phone while he's out there and to my relief there's always messages from him every hour which fills me with reassurance. But when it goes quiet, that's when I pause and pray to God that everything is okay.”
Roxanne, who played Jo Stiles in Emmerdale from 2005 to 2008, continued: “The horror stories my husband brings home to me are like something out of an action film, yet there's no director yelling 'cut' and these heroes aren't given a stunt double, nor the same pay cheque or amount of acclaim as action stars like Will Smith or Tom Cruise.”
The mum to be went on: “As he packs his bag [to go to work] and pulls me in for a kiss I breathe him in, holding on to that moment for just a second longer because I know this goodbye, like all the ones before, is something that I can't take for granted.”
The Celebrity Big Brother (CBB) star moved to the United States following her controversial appearance on CBB. The star was at the centre of the 'punchgate' scandal where she accused Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomasof punching her in the Big Brother house. She later admitted to “getting it wrong” after seeing the footage.
Following the scandal, Roxanne left her life in the UK, including fiancé Lee Walton and started out again in the States.
The actress confirmed her romance with Married at First Sight star Jason just seven months after split from fiancé back in 2019.
The pair got engaged soon after and married just two months later in January 2020 and Roxanne claimed Jason “saved her from suicide”.
The loved-up pair are expecting their first child together later this year and recently announced they are expecting a boy.
Roxanne shared the news that they are expecting a little boy, and the pair are completely overjoyed.
The actress even went as far as to say she always saw herself having a son and she felt it would happen “spiritually”.
"Our hearts melted when we found out,” she told MailOnline.
