Shailene Woodley reflects on grief following Aaron Rodgers split

Shailene Woodley reflects on grief following her second split from Aaron Rodgers

Newly-single Shailene Woodley reflected on grief Wednesday as she shared an excerpt from Martín Prechtel’s 2015 book The Smell of Rain on Dust: Grief and Praise.

The 30-year-old Emmy nominee – who boasts 5.7M Instagram/Twitter followers – Instastoried: ‘Grief expressed out loud for someone we have lost, or a country or home we have lost, is in itself the greatest praise we could ever give them. Grief is praise, because it is the natural way love honors what it misses.’

Shailene’s post continued: ‘Seeing grief in this way helps us respect what we are going through, rather than being mired in shame and discouragement on top of the pain we already feel.’

Woodley also Instastoried a list of traits for astrological Scorpions – including ‘obsessive, secretive, and malicious’ – with the caption: ‘Preach. Let’s f***ing go. If you know you know.’

The Fallout actress – a Bernie Sanders-supporting environmental activist – began dating NFL star Aaron Rodgers – a vocal anti-vaxxer – in July 2020 at the height of the pandemic.

Shailene and the 38-year-old Green Bay Packers quarterback first broke up in February – a year after announcing their engagement – before splitting for good this month.

‘They are not together,’ a source told E! News on Monday.

‘Shailene tried to give it another shot and was spending time with Aaron, but she quickly saw that everything was on his terms and nothing was going to change. There was no reason to continue and she’s done with it again.’

On April 20, Aaron went on a very public basketball date with Mallory Evans, the daughter of Milwaukee Bucks owner Wes Edens.
