When Big Brother first hit screens in 2000, the nation was captivated by the ins and outs of a group of strangers locked in a bolthole while watched at all hours by cameras and given tasks.
After nearly two decades on screen, first on Channel 4 and then on Channel 5, the show bowed out in 2018 after bosses decided not to renew it.
But five years later and Big Brother is set to be rebooted on ITV2 for a brand new series with AJ Odudu and Will Best serving as hosts.
There have been many infamous moments through the show’s history on both the civilian and celebrity versions.
As a new crop of housemates prepare to move into the nation’s most famous bungalow, MailOnline takes a look back at Big Brother’s most memorable moments.
Nasty Nick’s notes – Series One (2000)

As viewers continued to be enthralled with the season, the behaviour of housemate Nick Bateman was the most shocking.
The city broker won the nickname Nasty Nick after he attempted to cheat in the game and pass notes between contestants to sway nominations.
He was confronted by eventual winner Craig who gathered the house around the kitchen table to discuss Nick’s notes.
‘How can you be so two faced?’ Craig asked him. ‘I know it’s true, you know it’s true.’
The scheme backfired on Nick as he was ejected from the house on Day 35 for breaking the rules around nominations while Craig went on to win the show.

Series Three introduced the nation to Jade Goody who would go on to become of the UK’s most famous reality TV stars.

Jade made it to the final of Big Brother and ultimately finished in third place with Kate Lawler winning the show.

Emma soon stirred the pot when she told eventual winner Nadia Almada what Viktor Ebuwa and Jason Cowan had been saying about her behind her back.
Viktor and Emma soon began arguing and things became so heated they started throwing food at each other.
Several other housemates got involved with some defending Viktor and others sticking up for Emma.
Eventually, security were called in to separate the housemates after the table was overturned.
The next day, Emma was removed from the house and Viktor was made see a psychologist.

Often regarded as one of the best series in the show’s history, Big Brother 7 introduced the public to Nikki Grahame.
The Hertfordshire native became known for throwing tantrums over harmless situations such as having to get out of bed or not being able to make a pair of headphones work.
In her most memorable moment, Nikki stormed into the diary room and vented her frustration over new housemate Susie Verrico.
‘Who is she?! Who is she?! Who is she?! Where did you find her?’ Nikki shouted at Big Brother.
And reality TV history was made.

Ryan had been playfighting with her but Roxanne insisted he hit her with malice and told the other housemates this version of events.
The producers combed over the footage of the incident and concluded that Ryan had not punched Roxanne.
The incident received over 25,000 complaints from the public and several of Roxanne’s Emmerdale co-stars criticised her behaviour.
Host Emma Willis also criticised Roxanne, saying she could have ‘ruined’ Ryan’s reputation had there not been any cameras filming the incident.
