Kate Middleton’s sneaky photo trick revealed

Even babies love this royal’s style.

Kate Middleton and Prince William are in Wales for the second day of their mini tour of the country today, and one royal watcher-in-training took a particular liking to the Princess of Wales’ designer handbag as the couple greeted members of the public.

The royal met 1-year-old Daniel Williams and his mom, Lucy, in Aberfan, Wales, and, as Middleton chats to his mother — as shown in a clip shared by ITV Wales on Twitter — Daniel grabs the royal’s croc-print Mulberry handbag, which is a past-season style that originally retailed for £675 (around $845).

Instead of trying to take it back, the princess — who wore an old favorite checked Zara dress and black Catherine Walker coat with Queen Elizabeth’s Welsh Guards Leek Brooch for the occasion — lets him have it and walks away with a laugh to continue greeting other people.

Lucy reacts in delight (and a slight amount of horror) as little Daniel plays with the bag and even tries to bite it, with the mom saying, “Don’t eat it!” in the video.

After he throws the pricey purse, the Aberfan local makes a quick catch and grimaces, turning to hand it back to the Princess of Wales.

“I am just speechless,” Lucy later told ITV of the moment, which she said she “won’t forget.”

“I think she sympathized with how hard it is with children,” the fellow mom continued. “She said, ‘He can have it to play with, I’ll come back for it!’ like it was any other person in the street.”

Whether it’s visiting a forest school in Denmark or attending a school assembly in England, Middleton seems in her element during her many engagements with children.

Middleton and Prince William paid a visit to the memorial honoring victims of the 1966 landslide that killed 144 people in the small Welsh village.

Yesterday, the prince and princess kicked off their Welsh tour in much more casual attire, sporting matching red jackets and cargo pants as they joined volunteers from a mountain rescue squad.

With the coronation of King Charles III just a week from tomorrow, we’ll have more royal fashion fun ahead — and hopefully more cute kid moments.
