Lisa Marie Presley’s family life from famous movie star daughter to losing her only son

Lisa Marie Presley tragically died aged 54 on Thursday, 12 January, after being rushed to hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Lisa Marie was music icon Elvis Presely’s only child, whom he shared with wife Priscilla.

She was just nine years old when the singing icon died.

Announcing the news of Lisa Marie’s untimely passing, Priscilla, 77, said in a statement: “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.

“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers.”

Lisa Marie is survived by her three daughters Riley Keough, and twins Finley Aaron and Harper Vivienne Ann.

She was married to Riley’s father Danny Keough between 1988 – 1994, before later going on to marry Michael Lockwood in 2006. They welcomed their twins two years later.

They went on to file for divorce in 2016.

As well as welcoming Riley with first husband Danny, Lisa, 54, was mother to son Benjamin who sadly died in 2020.

The 27 year old’s death was later ruled as suicide by self-inflicted gun shot wounds.

At the time of his untimely passing, Lisa penned a heartfelt essay about grief.

She wrote: “I can recall a couple of times in my life where I knew parents who lost their child and while I could be there for them when it happened, I avoided them after and never bothered to follow up with them because they quite literally became a representative of my biggest fear.

“I also low-key judged them, and I swore I'd never do whatever it was that I felt they either did or neglected in their parental actions and choices with their child.”

While Benjamin had pursued a music career before the time of his death, his sister Riley, 33, has taken on the acting world.

Initially starting out as a model in 2004, Riley swapped the catwalk for movie sets in 2009 and has since starred in several huge films alongside the likes of Tom Hardy, Jake Gyllenhaal and Shia LeBouf.

Some of these include Mad Max: Fury Road, The Guilty, The Good Doctor, Magic Mike and The Runaways.

As well as acting, Riley officially made her directorial debut last year with her film War Pony.

The film had its world premier at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, with it going on to win the Caméra d'Or award for best debut feature.

On Rotten Tomatoes, War Pony currently boasts an impressive 94%.

Riley’s younger half-siblings Harper and Finlay are only 14 and yet to embark on their careers.

In photographs of the two teenagers at their father’s wedding last summer to hair stylist Stephanie Hobgood, it was evident that the two girls have inherited their mother’s good looks.

While having different dads, it appears as if Riley has a close relationship with her younger sisters.
