Party season is approaching, and there’s no time like the present to start preparing your festive outfits.

This year one of the biggest hair trends is surprisingly easy to do, and it makes a big impact whilst still being subtle and chic enough to wear with just about anything. That’s right; the statement hair bow is back.
Spotted on celebs like Kendall Jenner, Sarah Jessica Parker, Emma Watson and even the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton herself in the past, the hair bow has come and gone out of fashion over the last few years, but this season it’s back… and it’s bigger than ever.
SJP gave a masterclass in wearing the statement bow when she attended the New York City Ballet’s 2023 Fall Fashion Gala, with our fave style icon opting for a mega bow that cascaded from the crown of her head down to the hem of her dress.
If you’re worried about your hair bow looking too twee or young, the easiest way to make it look chic is by styling it with a shiny, slicked back style that makes it look more grown up.
A ponytail or half up half down are both solid options for styling your bow, with the simple, sleek style stopping your statement ribbon from looking too fussy.
You can go for a full slicked back ponytail, like SJP and Kendall, or opt for a more dainty style that sees just a small section of your hair pulled back and adorned with the bow, whilst the rest of your hair – and front sections – are left to flow loosely around it.
Hailey Bieber also showed off a more minimal, youthful way of styling hair ribbons earlier this year, when she adorned her two mini bunches with white sheer bows.
Statement bows have also been spotted clipped into low, loose ponytails for a more relaxed take on the trend, whilst Nicola Peltz Beckham wore a tonne of them clipped at the bottom of her plaits for Victoria Beckham’s fashion show.
