Who is Matt Hancock’s millionaire girlfriend Gina Coladangelo? Everything you need to know

Following his three week stint in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle, MP Matt Hancock, 44, has been reunited with girlfriend Gina Coladangelo, 45.

The pair put on a PDA-packed display, with many viewers comparing their embrace on the ITV show’s iconic bridge to the infamous pictures of the couple that emerged during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Matt, who couldn't keep his hands off Gina at the I'm A Celeb final, was forced to quit his job as health secretary over their affair in June 2021, following considerable backlash after breaking his own social distancing guidelines to carry out the affair.

Images of the two kissing and embracing emerged at a time when social distancing restrictions were still in place.

Prior to being known as ‘Matt Hancock’s aid’, Gina has a successful career as a businesswoman, lobbyist, and former non-executive director, which has amassed her a net-worth of around $8 million.

Gina was formerly a marketing and communications director for high street chain Oliver Bonas. She was married to the brand’s founder, Oliver Tress, but the pair quickly split after the scandal broke.

Gina was hired as communications expert for the Department of Health, despite having no obvious health credentials. It was later accused that she had been hired for personal reasons, however a spokesperson for the Department of Health denied these accusations.

Gina was born in Hitchin, Hertfordshire to Italian “multi-millionaire” businessman Rino Casmia Coladangelo and Heather Coladangelo. She attended Oxford University from 1995 to 1998, studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics and obtained a Master’s degree from Oriel College.

Whilst at Oxford she volunteered at the student radio station, Oxygen 107.9 FM, as a newsreader. This is where she met her future lover, as Matt coincidentally worked at the same station as a sports reporter.

Speaking on Steven Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO podcast, Matt said: “I’ve known Gina for more than half of my life and we first actually worked together on student radio back in the Oxford days. So, we spent a lot of time together, ironically, trying to get me to be able to communicate in a more emotionally intelligent way.”

Gina married her ex-husband Oliver in 2009, with whom she shares three children. Matt was also previously married to Martha Hancock for a total of 15 years, with whom he shares three children.

Matt and Gina have been in a committed relationship since news of the affair broke, although reports claim they’re not yet living together.

In a heartfelt letter to Matt during his I’m A Celeb appearance, Gina wrote: “Dear Matt, wow watching you in the jungle has been quite the experience. We are particularly impressed that you conquered your fear of snakes. We are less sure about the dancing. Although we saw that you almost got the electric slide thanks to Scarlette. Gina xxxxx”
