A car smashed into pedestrians on a street in central London during the early hours of this morning.
Reports claim the vehicle lost control and veered off the road at around 3.30 am this morning. The vehicle collided with a bus stop in Aldwych, London injuring several people.
Crews from the London Ambulance Service and officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to the scene. It is understood at least nine people were hospitalised – eight pedestrians and the driver of the vehicle.

According to SunOnline, a man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD 1295/29Oct.
A Met Police spokesperson added: "Enquiries into the circumstances continue. At this stage, the incident is not being treated as terror-related."

The road remains closed in both directions between Waterloo Bridge and Kingsway. A police cordon is in place while enquiries continue.
The condition of the eight injured pedestrians is currently unknown.
