Jada Pinkett Smith reveals writing the tell-all memoir Worthy was ’emotionally taxing’ and ‘really technical’… ahead of October release date
Jada Pinkett Smith worked hard on her new memoir Worthy which will be released on October 17.
The 51-year-old Red Table Talk host told her 11.4 million Instagram followers that it took effort to dish.
‘Not only has [writing Worthy] been emotionally taxing, but it’s really technical,’ she said on Instagram.
She told her fans that she intended to share behind-the-scenes secrets of her writing process in the coming days leading up to the release.
Giving credit to her editor, Kerry Thornton, and her co-author, Mim, Jada teased, ‘stay tuned,’ to her followers for more details about her Worthy writing process to come.

The Girls Trip star also relayed how thrilled she was to find out she was on the New York Times list of most anticipated books for the fall.
She recognized that she was in fine company on the list, with Kerry Washington, Barbra Streisand’s and Britney Spears’ upcoming memoirs also making the list.
‘I can’t wait to read [Kerry’s] book,’ Jada said in the video, also noting that she was excited to purchase a copy of Britney and Barbara’s books as well.
She declared, ‘We have some good reading this fall everybody,’ supporting her fellow A-listers literary efforts as she promoted Worthy.
According to People, the Set It Off star began writing Worthy way back in December 2021, long before her husband Will Smith’s controversial slap at the Oscars in February 2022.
‘It was just like, the idea of being willing to take full responsibility for my story, through and through. And doing it with grace and love. For myself and for others,’ the Maryland-born beauty told the outlet.
Joking that the book felt like, ‘divine advice,’ the Fela! musical producer added, ‘I had so many people encourage me to write a book.’
However, it took the Bad Moms actress some time to accept the her journey was ‘worthy’ of being published in a book, hence the title.

A Worthy book tour is also set to kick off the day before Jada’s memoir hits bookshelves everywhere, starting in New York City.
The Girls Hold Up This World author added that she also felt inspired to write her own memoir to reclaim her own narrative.
‘So many people feel because of my talk show Red Table Talk that they know my journey,’ the Nutty Professor star noted.
She added, ‘There’s been so much about my journey that I haven’t really been able to share on a format like Red Table Talk.’
Worthy hits bookstores everywhere on October 17th, 2023.
