Death in Paradise star Ralf Little, 41, said he sat close to Prince Harry, 36, and the royal’s friends at a special invite event to watch Manchester United vs Barcelona in 2011. The actor claimed that the Duke of Sussex’s guards had gone to approach him as he got close to the Prince while celebrating Wayne Rooney scoring a goal for his team.

Describing the setting at the time, the actor said he and his mates were sat on a sofa behind Harry and his friends, as they watched the game on a big screen.

He went on to say: “Rooney scores and I’m up on the sofa like, ‘Yeah!’

“And I’ve hugged [people] this way and I’ve hugged that way and I see Prince Harry and I go [to hug him].

“And my mate drags me back off the sofa and I’m like, ‘What are you f*****g doing?'”

Ralf then added that his friend dragged him back as he noticed Prince Harry’s security guards coming towards him, so swiftly stopped him.

“He turns around and said as soon as I jumped on the sofa, three guys appeared from nowhere and just closed in.”

The actor went on to say that despite the awkward encounter, he had got chatting to Prince Harry’s friend and the security team.

At the time, Ralf was best known for his character Antony Royle in The Royle Family.

The royal’s friends said they were a fan of the show, and so was Harry.

“It was very sweet,” he recalled to Will Mellor on their podcast Two Pints with Will & Ralf.

“They were really posh they were like, ‘Oh we love The Royle Family’.

“And I was like, ‘Does he [Harry] watch it?’ and they were like, ‘Yeah he loves it’ I don’t know if that is true or not.

Ralf added he also got friendly with the security guards and asked if they really thought he was going to hug Prince Harry.

The actor bravely asked them: “Would you have done anything?”

Recalling their reaction, he added: “They were like, ‘I would’ve broken your arm’.”

The Death In Paradise star said he then realised that each guard had concealed guns on them.

Ralf shared his admission on the pair’s podcast as well as his Instagram page.

He captioned the clip: “Almost getting my arm broken by Prince Harry’s guards.

“That Wembley final between #ManchesterUnited and #Barcelona was memorable, to say the least.”
