Strictly star Angela Rippon, 79, is branded ‘arrogant’ and ‘insufferable’ by shocked It Takes Two viewers as she discusses dance off blunder
Strictly Come Dancing’s Angela Rippon has once again come under fire after she sent Krishnan Guru-Murthy home in her second dance off on Sunday night.
It Takes Two viewers blasted the presenter after she commented on the dance off performance which saw her suffer a near fall during her Paso Doble with partner Kai Widdrington.
Host Fleur East asked the 79-year-old star how she felt going into the dance off, as she questioned: ‘Did you think it was all over?’
In her response, which fans have branded ‘arrogant’, Angela replied: ‘No I didn’t.’
Referring to her near fall she explained: ‘I mean I don’t know why, I think the floor was slippery or my shoe was slippery and it just went, but no I didn’t.’

She continued: ‘I mean Kai sort of still had hold of me and I just knew what I had to do next and managed to do it.’
Angela is now through to the iconic Blackpool week at the Tower Ballroom after newsreader Krishnan and his partner Lauren Oakley were the latest to leave the competition.
Yet fans have now accused Angela of being ‘arrogant’ and ‘insufferable’ as they took to X, formerly Twitter, to express their frustrations.
One wrote: ‘Angela Ripping still being a tad arrogant that she didn’t think her stumble would affect the result. We all knew that too.’
Another wrote: ‘I used to like Angela Rippon but now that she’s been on Strictly she’s become totally insufferable the way she goes on about how fantastic she is, she did not deserve to go to Blackpool.’
Angela will perform an American Smooth to Tea for Two by Ella Fitzgerald on Saturday night, yet fans have raised complaints that the star never seems to be given any fast dances.
One wrote: ‘Anyone else fed up that Angela R is getting all the ballroom dances and hasn’t been tested as much as the other celebs? It’s such a fix!’
Another chimed: ‘Yet another slow dance for Angela R this week… American Smooth. How come she’s avoided all the fast Latin dances?? Oh well, she’s got to Blackpool as planned… so hopefully she’ll go out this week.’
However not everyone was completely negative as a third added: ‘Angela & Kai finally getting some lifts at the weekend. Although I think she could be going home in Blackpool I still think this could be a good dance. Love a good traditional American Smooth this should be great.’

Angela and Kai won the majority vote keeping them in the competition, but head judge Shirley Ballas said she would have decided to save Krishnan and Lauren.
Judge Craig Revel Horwood said: ‘Well Krishnan you really upped your game in that dance off, it was magnificent. Angela you nearly lost your supporting leg darling in the kick but you saved it, miraculously.
‘But the couple that I would like to save and go through to Blackpool is Angela and Kai.’
While Shirley said: ‘Well I picked the person that I felt was more grounded on their feet without any technical errors and I would have saved Krishnan & Lauren.’
But viewers at home fumed at the decision and accused the show of ‘favouritism’ towards Angela, arguing that her slip up should have sent her home, but that bosses wanted to ensure the TV presenter made it to Blackpool next week.
One person tweeted: ‘Sorry this is such a fix. How can you say “angela, you literally almost fell over. Krishnan you were significantly better but i’m still gonna save angela?” This is such a fix. Never agreed with shirley before wtf is going on.’
Another echoed: ‘At this point I feel like Angela could have stood there for the whole song and she would have still made it through. For once I agree with Shirley, Krishnan was better.’
A third raged: ‘Anyone else think it’s an absolute travesty that Angela R has been saved by the judges when they even admitted Krishnan upped his game! Craig and Shirley even pointed out Angela made a mistake! BBC bias, come on #Strictly play fair’.
