Keeping Up with the Kardashians gave the world an inside look at the Kardashian girls. They were rich, wild, and fiercely loyal to their family. Now, the show has ended. But fans on Reddit don’t think the KarJen clan needs a show to stay famous.
‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ is officially over
After 20 seasons and more than a decade on the air, the Kardashian Jenner family and E! decided to part ways earlier this year. The last episodes aired in the summer of 2021, and fans don’t miss the show that much. Viewership declined dramatically in the later seasons of the show. Fans blame a number of factors on the downfall of KUWTK.
At the end of the day, it may have been the Kardashians who wanted to end their 20 season reality TV run. Kourtney Kardashian had already quit the show before E! pulled the plug, claiming she wanted privacy for her young family. All the Kardashian sisters have children now, and they may not want their kids to grow up on film, for the entire world to see. Although some privacy would be nice, the Kardashians reportedly have another show coming out on Hulu, although it isn’t clear when, or what the show’s format will be.
Fans don’t think the Kardashian sisters need a reality TV show
Fans are mostly excited for the new Hulu show, but they’re not sure the Kardashians need a reality TV show to stay relevant. As one fan on Reddit said, “They definitely don’t need it anymore. They needed it in the beginning because they didn’t quite know how to do publicity and PR stunts yet. But now they’re practically experts at scandals and getting people to talk about them.”
Although it is true that the Kardashians often have everyone talking about them, it seems like that may be a skill they’ve had all along. After all, the show itself was sold to E! thanks to a possible publicity stunt. Although Kim’s sex tape was reportedly ‘leaked’ without her permission, fans have theorized that she or her mother, Kris Jenner, leaked it on purpose. Now, they’re grabbing headlines left and right. Although the Hulu show is in the works, they technically don’t have a show at this time. The fact that they’re still so popular is further proof that they don’t need a show to stay famous.
Will the Kardashians have a new show on Hulu?
Kim announced the new Hulu show shortly after announcing KUWTK would be leaving E!. So much time had passed that fans were wondering if something went south on the deal. However, earlier this week, Kim appeared on Ellen, where she told Ellen DeGeneres that the Hulu show would be coming out sometime soon, according to Fanside. Kim also said that it would be filmed and released in quick succession.
One of the negatives about the previous show was that there were months of editing between filming. Between Instagram and TMZ, fans were already caught up by the time the show aired. A tighter turnaround time will mean fans are getting new information from the show, which may make the Hulu show more popular. However, Kim still isn’t sure what the format will be.
