Whose Line Is It Anyway? star opens up about his sexuality in honest chat

Wayne Brady, 51, has spoken out for the first time about how he identifies as a pansexual after the continued support from his loved ones.

He told People in a very vulnerable discussion: “I am pansexual.

“In doing my research, both with myself and just with the world, I couldn’t say if I was bisexual, because I had to really see what that was, especially because I really have not gotten a chance to act on anything.”

Before going public, Wayne was sure to discuss the situation with his ex-wife Mandie Taketa, with the pair getting divorced in 2008.

They share 20-year-old Maile, with the family being spotted on a day out in Disneyland in California since the revealing interview.

Mandie said of her response: “I just said, ‘Great.’

“As I knew coming out would help him be happier.”

Before coming out, the TV personality admitted that he had “dealt with the shame” of it destroying his mental health.

He said: “I’ve been attracted to certain men in my life, but I’ve always pushed that aside because of how I was raised, and because I live in today’s world, and it’s scary as s**t.”

The family, along with Mandie’s partner Jason Michael Fordham, will even be starring in a Hulu reality show all about their blended family that is set to be released next year.

The comedian also opened up about his sexuality in a TikTok, sharing a video in which he and several loved ones lip-synced to ‘It’s All Coming Back To Me Now’.

They danced around with rainbow flags and made sure to include some outfit changes.

He wrote in the caption: “I advocate mental health for all and a part of that is self-transparency.

“In doing my work, I’ve come to see a few truths, one of them being that I want to be free to love whomever I want. This truth makes me Pan and part of the lgbtq+ community.”

He continued: “I was so afraid of having my manhood questioned, but scratch that.

“A ‘real man’ in my eyes isn’t afraid to be honest and happy. From now on, I’ll be over here living my best life!”

For now, Brady isn’t too concerned with dating and is focusing on improving his own life and finding his authentic self.

He confirmed to People: “I am single, but it’s not about being with someone right now. I’ve got some work to do. Then, Wayne as a single, open-minded pansexual can make a decision and be free and open to other people.”
