If you've scrolled through social media these past few weeks, you'll have likely spotted that silver seems to be the colour of winter. From jeans to bags, the metallic shade isn't just reserved for jewellery anymore – and if anyone knows this to be true, it's M&S.
The retailer got involved in the silver trend before many of the other brands, releasing a pair of low-heel high boots at the start of autumn that would go on to become a shopper favourite. Now, those Leather Kitten Heel Knee High Boots, £125 here, have been given an ankle boot upgrade for those who prefer a shorter shoe style.
The Leather Kitten Heel Chisel Toe Ankle Boots, £79 here, feature the same silver shade and low kitten heel, so the only real difference is that they don't reach up to just below the knees like the other pair. The ankle boots also feature M&S' Insolia technology, which boosts comfort by reducing pressure on the balls of your feet, making them the perfect purchase for party season and beyond.
Shoppers are already taking to the review section to post glowing comments about the ankle boots, with many noting how comfortable they are to wear.
"Needed some nicer boots for the evening and to wear with flared trousers. So glad I bought these. They looked perfect and weren’t too high to wear for the whole evening. I would definitely size up unless you have a narrow foot," says one M&S shopper.
A second pens: "Great buy! I love my silver boots. A perfect addition to my Christmas attire for the festivities," with a third adding: "I have been searching for silver boots for years. These boots are great. Real leather and so comfortable. Due to the narrow toe, I went up a size for comfort but I absolutely love them."
If you like the sound of them and you're keen to find something to wear them with, let us point you in the direction of George at Asda's Studio Edit Sequin Long Sleeve Midi Dress, £55 here, which is being called a great alternative for Hailey Bieber's £1.2k gown from 16Arlington. If you can't do a double silver look at Christmas time, when can you?
And if affordable footwear is something you're shopping around for, we also love The Glamorous Teddy Mules, £24 here, which come in a choice of black or cream, and have the same footbed style soles and buckle detail on the tops, giving them a very similar look to Birkenstock’s version – just for £166 less.
