Padma Lakshmi dazzles in silver dress as she’s joined by mini-me daughter Krishna, 13, at TIME’s star-studded Person of the Year event in New York
Padma Lakshmi was joined by her lookalike daughter Krishna on Tuesday, at TIME magazine’s Person of the Year event in New York.
The former Top Chef host, 53, dazzled in a shimmering sequin silver gown, which she paired with nude strappy heels.
The Indian-born food connoisseur wore her raven tresses parted in the middle and styled into loose waves for the occasion.
Padma opted for soft glam, with just a touch of blush on her cheeks and nude lipstick on her pout.
Meanwhile Krishna, 13, whom Padma often calls Littlhands, looked stylish in a chic black gown and matching sandal heels.

The Person of the Year event will be celebrating singer Taylor Swift, 34, this year, as well as other most influential people in different sectors.
The evening will include ‘cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and onstage conversations with select designees for a year-end celebration’ as per TIME.
The 14-time Emmy nominee welcomed Krishna with venture capitalist Adam Dell, 53 – brother of computer magnate Michael Dell – and she was truly a miracle child considering Padma had been suffering from endometriosis since age 13, which went undiagnosed for 23 years.
‘I was told I’d never be able to get pregnant,’ Lakshmi recalled to The Guardian in March.
‘I had one fallopian tube removed. On the other side, I’ve had half an ovary removed. So I really don’t know how that happened. I’m very grateful for that.’
Over Thanksgiving Padma shared how she and Adam co-parent Krishna over the holidays in an Instagram post, which featured snaps of her and her daughter through the years.
‘Usually #LittleHands and I do a big Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, stuffing the whole nine yards with all our loved ones. Some years when she has been with her dad, I just go to Paris and have a ball. No turkey, no relatives.’
‘This year we will blissfully be just the two of us (though we will miss our family) doing nothing. I’m making a roast chicken and roasted vegetables, so that we can still make our beloved potpie with leftovers. We are both exhausted and when I asked Krishna what she wanted to do this year, she said, “Can it be just us? Can we not do a big dinner and just chill and rest, mom?”

Padma previously shared that it was ‘mortifying’ to face such furious public speculation about the identity of her daughter’s father when she revealed that she was pregnant in 2009.
Her pregnancy announcement came as a surprise to fans who weren’t aware that she was dating anyone at the time, two years after she spit from ex-husband Salman Rushdie.
In an episode of People’s podcast Me Becoming Mom in 2021, Padma admitted that seeing stories splashed on newspapers around the world which guessed about the father’s identity was ‘icky.’
‘It certainly was icky when the press started snooping around in various countries — not just America, but in India, England, Australia. At that time, it was splashed all over the newspapers and it was mortifying,’ she said.
‘But on the other hand, it was inconsequential because the main event was that I was going to be a mom,’ she added. ‘I was just happy. That stuff was certainly there. It was in the background, it was always like a white noise presence.’
‘I was sort of between relationships, without going into the specifics,’ she said. ‘It definitely complicated the situation, and as we know, our society is a patriarchal society, so I knew that it was not the ideal way, obviously, to be in the situation I was in.’
Those two relationships were with Adam and billionaire Teddy Forstmann.

Padma and Dell were in an on-again, off-again romance before splitting in 2021; they are seen in 2017
In her memoir, Love, Loss and What We Ate, Padma said she realized she wasn’t sure who the baby’s father was.
‘A question began to nag at my giddiness: not so much “How?” but the far more uncomfortable “Who?”‘
‘I didn’t know the paternity myself, until that September,’ she said.
Padma and Dell ended up in an on-again, off-again romance for years, though according to Page Six, they split in 2021.
Last month she was pictured holding hands with blackish creator Kenya Barris, 49, while out in New York.
Padma was previously married to novelist Salman Rushdie from 2004 – 2007.
